The Black Bull Inn

"Excellent service with the food absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend. On a small note my wife who is partially sighted could not clearly see some of the steps when going down the stairs due to the pattern of the carpet. This however was the only issue with the rest of hotel/ pub be excellently set out and presented. Breakfast was also exquisite. Overall a 5 star stay just make the stairs down more visible for anyone who is visually impaired."

"A lovely little gem of a place, spacious room with a fabulous shower. We were able to access our room earlier than booking in time I just had to call the property the day before to see if it was possible. Booking in & out was so simple. The staff were all friendly & welcoming. The bar had a very warm inviting log burner going which made it all cozy & was much appreciated after a cold day’s adventure. We ate in the restaurant there meals were really nice & hot & plentiful same as the breakfast in the mornings with great coffee.. we couldn’t make breakfast one morning due to an early boat trip but we didn’t go hungry we were made a little packed lunch to take with us to which we were very grateful. We will definitely return such a lovely welcoming place. Thank you all at the white swan Sue & Paul room 2"

"A lovely stay! Nice modern cottage with added bonus of sauna. The location was good for sightseeing base Took advantage of the spa which was very nice but pricey @£95 per person which was just for the use of the facilities We also enjoyed the tasting menu which was very good! Just would like to suggest that an information manual in the cottage’s to help with heating, cooking etc"

"Receptionist / manageress was polite and cheerful and explained everything to us about our stay . Bedroom and bathroom was spacious and spotless . Breakfast was ample in both continental and full English and was well represented and extremely tasty esp the sausage . We will definitely stay here again Thank you very much Dale for making our stay enjoyable"

"Old building with small rooms and very firm beds. Noisy night time traffic. Clean rooms. Excellent food, both evening meal and breakfast. Easy onsite parking. Lovely friendly staff. Good value."

"We had a nice large room and bathroom. Spotlessly clean with a sofa. A welcoming array of tea/coffee with biscuits. Our only slight disapointment was that breakfast was a little greasy . Excellent location with great friendly staff."
