I was really looking forward to our stay at La Dia Hotel Faralya. Unfortunately, it did not match the description on Expedia. The wifi didn’t reach our room, the room was MUCH smaller than shown in the photo so for myself and my two teens, there was no room for our bags. There was no hot water in our room. The owners did come just before 11 pm, when we were in bed) to show us how to use it, but even then, it never got beyond tepid. The description also says that Butterfly Valley is walkable from the hotel but it’s not. It’s not possible (or advised) to walk down to the Valley, and the owner communicated that to us when we asked (it was one of the things we were most excited about) so this was really disappointing.
Faralya itself is a very beautiful village and near many attractions in the area. The breakfast on our first morning was great.
We ended up checking out after the first night (we were booked for three nights) because of no hot water or wifi and no space for the three of us. It was a very uncomfortable stay (and, we are used to starting in small, budget friendly places- this one just had too many deficiencies).
I messaged the owners to let them know we were checking out, to say thank you, and to ask for a refund for the nights we didn’t stay, considering the no hot water or wifi etc, but they didn’t even ever reply to me. It was, overall, a very disappointing experience.
