The property is right on the beach. No need for a rental car. They have entertainment 7 days a week which ends at 9pm. This was my second trip two years in a row at the Riptide. It’s a wonderful mom and teenage daughter spring getaway. The staff is great and the location is amazing. We will go back again.

This place was so neat. It is right on the boardwalk and beach, above/around this tiki bar. The staff were super nice. While the room was smaller it had everything we needed. The tiki bar closes promptly at 9pm so it was very quiet, whichballowed us to enjoy the ocean. I would stay here again.

Great spot! Walking distance to so many restaurants and bars. And literally right on the beach. The only downside was that the tiki bar kitchen was closed. They said it was being renovated. But that was OK because there were so many other options in walking distance.

This small hotel is located directly on the Hollywood Boardwalk and directly across from the Hollywood Beach. Th area is very much family oriented. The hotel has a Bar and food service located on the street level. There is live music almost every afternoon and night. Our room was on the second floor and the noise from the bar was no problem. There were several maintenance items that the staff took care of immediately.

Pros - Great location (close to everything), beautiful view, and plenty of space in the room. Cons- Air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool. Limited parking with a cost of $15 night was not in the Expedia description.

Live music every day was great. The whole beach congregates there! Property was a little worn. Door wouldn't close completely without deadbolt.

It was right on the beach and they provided towels, chairs, and an umbrella. It was a nice apartment type of hotel that supplied everything you needed and they had an outside bar with live band. I would definitely stay here again!!

Had to call police on guests staying in room 3. We were woke up with screaming from a female coming out of the room. Serious fight. We were up all night as we did not feel safe. No one in the office to contact and no one in the office when we decided to leave in the morning. Terrible experience. I want a response from the property.

What’s unique about this property is that they have Oscar. He made check in so easy and painless. He’s very welcoming and approachable. Very professional and thorough. The rooms are surprisingly big! Very clean. It seems like the way the rooms are set up, you get an amazing view no matter what room you get. Very awesome. Thank you Oscar!

I wanted to stay close to the ocean, so the location worked out very well. The staff worked to help me overcome the detail I forgot when I was booking a hotel--that I preferred an elevator. Dragging suitcases up to the second floor would have been a grind, but fortunately the desk staff took care of it for me. A huge shout out of appreciation there!! I enjoyed getting to see much of the Broadwalk. There was bicycle rental place relatively nearby. That was nice, an easy way to take more of the area in. When we were there, a scheduled event was going on that attracted a rather large turnout. I liked the fact that the party-goers were not unruly, and that it wound up around 9:00 p.m., as we had a very early departure the following morning. I was pleased to be able to have a cocktail and supper while litstening to the live music. We really liked our room. It was spacious, clean, and had a view of the ocean. If you're checklist includes similar things, you'll be happy here.

The property is primarily a tiki bar with a mixed crowd. Music starts at 1230pm, ends atone 9pm. The office staff was very nice. We arrived 4 hours before check in following a cruise. She was able to store our luggage while we went out to the beach. The room was ready an hour before check in. The beach outside is really pretty. It's seriously right there. The area is really nice. Really, something for everyone. I loved exploring the area. They did get the room done an hour before check in, but it was not the Oceanview I had reserved. Not a big deal, we were only there one night. The room itself is tiny. The beds are cheap. The comforters had cigarette burns in them. There was someone else's hair on my sheets and in the shower. There was a layer of dust on top of the wicker furniture. The kitchen area had one very tiny sauce pan The stove top appeared broken, but there was a hot plate in the cabinet I assume we would've been expected to use. The cleanliness was not where we would've liked so we didn't eat in the room at all. There also isn't really anywhere to eat. For a room with 2 queen beds there was a plastic patio table and one plastic patio chair pushed up along side the bed and wall. The bathroom is small. There was someone else soap gunk in the shower. There were pieces of trash under the bed. The bathroom door didn't close. The widows are ALL able to be seen into from other units or the bar. It did not feel safe being there alone with my young daughter alone.

Last Minute Getaway
Last minute booking. First time at the Riptide. Our room was in the south building first level. Will not do that again. The bar is right there! We would be fine with the second floor or north building. Building was dated, but it was OK. We had a good time with the bar and live music daily and will have no problem coming back.

The lady at the check in was very nice. She remembered our Expedia VIP gift whereas I had forgotten. She even waived our resort fee because we arrived so late due to airline delays.

I loved having the bar and entertainment right next to us for New Year’s! It was Perfect! Donna was the very best bartender and made the evening so fun. The Riptide provided a great place to stay and convenient location on the boardwalk close enough to all the action, but far enough away if you want get away from the craziness. Can’t wait to go back!

The Riptide is a fantastic place to stay to be close to the beachfront and easy access to all the fun places! Rooms are what I'd call 'vintage' - little on the older side. But the beachfront and Tiki bar well made up for it!
