To be COMPLETELY HONEST:
This was a business trip during a fair, so a long term stay and the main reason to choose the hotel was to save money and be quite close to the fair.
This was successful.
It was a decent breakfast for the price, the bed was fully OK and the bathroom clean.
But the area itself horrendous: Drug addicts that You basically have to step over to get inside the hotel and a lot of XXX-content in the area.
Avoid if travelling with children.
There were deficiencies in the room's equipment. There were a lot of drug addicts on the street of the hotel around the clock, which disturbed especially sleep. The breakfast was decent.
By far the worst neighborhood I've ever seen in any major city so far, swamped with drug junks and homeless, I feel sorry for the hotel crew, as the rooms themselves were okay, and the staff was friendly. But as also the on premises parking lot was a broken glass and urine stinking mess, I'll simply never be back here again and recommend anyone to just book 250m further away in any direction. Just not in the Bahnhof Viertel...
Friendly staff, great breakfast. Paying for parking, a bit rude, they should have feee parking given the surroundings outside! Hobos, homeless, junkies ALL over outside. Free drug clinic directly next door. Noisy as all night with them yelling, screaming, laughing, fighting etc all night. I got around 3 hours sleep. Definitely NOT for families or elderly
It’s facilities are basic and reflected in the price! Corridors are particularly in need of major renovation. The room ambience was lacking; curtains were thin and looked tired with some gaps in the header hooks on rail: no net curtains; bedroom window could not close fully and handle was damaged; paint chipped/scratched in several places; ceiling light not very bright; bedside lamp cable loose and lamp shades damaged. However bed was comfy and courtyard facing rooms relatively quiet. Breakfast was above expectations with a compact but varied offering of juices, cereals, yoghurts, meats, cheeses, breads, fresh fruit pieces and salad, as well as hot scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, and small meat balls that resemble sausage.
This is my opinion. I stayed in room 306.
Good Points - Price and Location for the Messe (10 mins walk) and train station (5 mins walk). Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean.
Bad Points - Despite being clean nothing in my room worked. The television in my room didn't work. The shower over the bath didn't work if the water was on hot as there was no pressure. It took about half an hour for the bath to fill too. So no shower or TV.
The road the hotel is in is a 24 hour road. If you're a light sleeper this isn't the place for you. There are also homeless shelters and facilities either side of the hotel with people shouting, screaming, fighting and doing other things 24/7.
The hotel's location is a definitive double-edged sword. The property is unfortunately nestled in proximity to the red light district, and a quick stroll would reveal a street heavily populated by drug users who appear to inhabit the surroundings. This aspect can be quite unsettling for guests who value security and peace of mind.
That being said, if one can overlook these external factors, the hotel does offer a sufficient level of comfort for brief stays. It certainly isn't the pinnacle of luxury, and signs of wear and tear are evident - a testament to its need for refurbishment.
In summary, if you're a traveler with a sense of adventure and looking for a budget stay, this could potentially be your spot. However, if you're seeking tranquility, comfort, and top-notch amenities, it might be worthwhile to explore other options. The choice greatly depends on your personal preferences and level of comfort with the neighborhood's dynamics.
lovely hotel nice rooms very clean and friendly staff. The surrounding area was full of druggies so we did not feel safe and they were noisy and began fighting with knives and belts. would not use again
Homeless sleeping outside the hotel, filthy area, drug dealers right out in the open, was chased by a homeless person when I was on my way in to the hotel. Smelly street of urine
I came and the hotel was closed no more operational. Didnt recieve any info from hotel or hotels.com
