"The staff was very kind and helpfull. The room was clean, modern and with agreat view tiwards the mountain. We enjoed the pool, the tish tenis and everything. We would definitely come back again!"

Hotel San Marco

"Location of the hotel is ideal; right on edge of beautiful lake, and the rooms are situated above an excellent Italian restaurant (run by the same owners and where you collect your room key from), which offers really good quality food and very friendly service. The hotel does offer off-street parking (at something like 7euro per night), but there is free street parking outside between 18.30pm until 09.00am. In the hotel we were given a room on the top floor (fortunately only one flight of steps to climb up with cases), which felt like the “honeymoon “ sweet given the large double-ended bath tub in bathroom. The room was very comfortable and big enough for both our suitcases to be laid out on floor. Kettle in room was much appreciated. Improvements to room would be provision of waste basket in main room in addition to the bathroom, and to have a pole provided to help open and close the velux window in bathroom (as no easy to do when short in height). The other annoyance was the open shower, which meant water goes everywhere and made the floor very slippery in all the bathroom after anyone has showered; just need to do a door onto the shower. Surrounding area was very nice and only 15mins drive to Fussen to visit the Ludwig castles and other attractions. Enjoyed our stay."

Luitpoldpark Hotel

"Perfect location close to the train station and bus to Neuschwanstein Castle. Gorgeous view over rooftops to the mountains. Amazing breakfast buffet with loads of choice. Carpet in room was stained and there was mould/dust on the bathroom vent. The place felt run down but it's characterful. I appreciated the elevator. No umbrellas were available at the desk on a rainy day."

AMERON Neuschwanstein Alpsee Resort & Spa

"Very nice hotel perhaps the best near Neuschwanstein. But so bavarian. Some staff were amazing other staff were a bit strange. We waited a bit for a drink and my fiancee signalled a waiter through a glass and she showed with her hand that she can't hear and left. I don't even think she meant bad its just very bavarian lol. Fine for me but bit of a culture shock for my girlfriend. Location is gorgeous. The pool with view over the lake could take service though. The food was actually pretty damn good in half pension and the head waiter did an insane job I guess they were a bit understaffed during the time. All in all its good. But it could be much better with a bit more international service ideas."

Best Western Plus Hotel Fuessen

"The staff was super nice and very helpful. They gave us a card to get around the city, directions to the Castle, places to eat, Very nice. The location is great. It sits about three blocks from the beginning of downtown five blocks to the train station and the bus where you catch a ride to the Castle. The High Castle in town is excellent and worth thetime. The breakfast was very typical for a German hotel cold cuts bread, coffee out of the machine. The convenience of breakfast was worth the €16, however the pastries at the train station were much better. Would consider staying there again when we come back to Fussen. Very much a Best Western."
