"This is NOT a place for you if hygiene is important!! The hygiene is not up to standard and not for Japan. It feels the management have tried to cut operation costs and hygiene has been sacrificed. Bad: - Bins are only emptied at the end of your stay attracting crockaches. In summer rubbish begin to smell if you had food. This does not work well with a hotel offering a full functioning kitchen (as people would be cooking) - We were given one roll of toilet paper for a four night stay...

"We stayed in the triple bed room and it was spacious and comfortable. The check in process was a bit tedious as we were not provided the information needed, ahead of time. There is no front desk or staff present, we had to call an operator for the information. Otherwise, check in wasn’t too bad. Each person had an amenity kit and pair of slippers waiting. "The hotel is super convenient, clean and nice. But I don't find it helpful while you're checking-in and the staff watching you and helping you all the way, then why don't they do it for you? I would prefer them to be flexible, while offering you the check-in by ourself or directly via the staff. Anyway, I would recommend it."

"This place has a really nice lobby that gives us great intro to the city. I mean the high ceiling was beautiful and I appreciate that library like shelves and the McIntosh Soundsystem quietly playing some lounge music I like that. The cafeteria was good too, but one part that they could’ve made better was the entryway is a little crowded. Food was good and one weird thing that I really really liked was the chopsticks that they used. They were so fine light and accurate. I really like our room. Our family of four people fit in perfectly and the ambience was up-to-date, clean modern I like it. Parking the car was good too. They had a nice basement parking getting around the city easy."

"We’ve stayed at many various hotels in Japan and have never come across a hotel where the staff have been as unhelpful and dismissive as the ones at Tokyu Stay Hakata. From the front desk staff to some of the restaurant staff. Linh at the front desk was particularly unhelpful. A female staff member who made our drinks at the restaurant was lovely and very friendly. Hotel itself was basic, somewhat clean (the elevators were dirty, bathrooms need more thorough cleaning), comfortable beds, location was a 10-15 minute walk from Hakata station. The in room washer and dryer were great. They’ll only do a full clean of your room once every 7 days, you can pay extra for room cleaning/bed changing if needed."

"The main come on was the free flowing draft beer, iced coffee, nuts dried fruits and chocolates at the lobby. The main drawback was the lack of housekeeping staff for the duration of the stay. Guests are required to bring out their trash although towels and toilet papers can be easily replaced at the counter when needed. For 300Usd a night it sure is nice to have a room cleaning service."
