Great spot to explore Galle

Super friendly and helpful staff that gave great recommendations for the rest of my trip. Room was clean, A/C was cold, water was hot for shower, and breakfast was amazing. I was even served a fresh mixed juice smoothie as part of the free breakfast. This is a algreat spot to explore the walls of the Galle Fort.

Really well restored very small guest house with just 2 rooms in a house shared with the host and his family. The hosts family occupy the entire home other than the two rooms and keep themsleves very much to themselves. Breakfast is a good local cuisine offer in a sister guest house about 2 mins walk away. Note the guesthouse has no sign as it is very much the host's home.

Beautiful old Dutch house, lovely balcony with view of the fort walls and the sea beyond. View west to the setting sun. Swimming spot within three minutes walk. Good fan and AC. Good size room and bathroom. Very nice breakfast at a nearby property. Management and staff very helpful in a pleasant reserved way. Excellent value. Highly recommended.

Staff was really nice and did what they could to help as the water was broke and the AC did not work. Very negative experience with (probably) owner during breakfast as we complained about the sudden cancelled transportion same morning. He raised his voice and was not friendly. Apartment was ok but run down.

Cosy and clean

Mir hat es in diesem Guesthouse sehr sehr gut gefallen. Ich hatte ein wunderschön eingerichtetes Zimmer mit einem Balkon mit Blick aufs Meer. Das Bad war geräumig und sauber. Der Gastgeber Sabri ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war unglaublich lecker und reichhaltig. Ich konnte am Abend vorher aus einer langen Liste von Dingen aussuchen, was ich haben möchte. Die wlan Verbindung im Zimmer ist gut.

great place to stay in the galle fort

Lovely homestay, they were all very welcoming on arrival & happy to help arrange transport etc for us. Room was a good size with a balcony, comfortable and private bathroom as well which was also good. breakfast was great but let them know if ou have any dietary requirements at the beginning as I am vegetarian and was given a fried egg with sausage, but they happily made me a Sri Lankan omelette instead! 😁

A lovely guest house

Mr. Khalid owns 5 guest houses in Galle Fort, all beautifully furnished, restored heritage buildings. One gets personal service from the lovely and personable staff, and from Mr. Khalid. Breakfasts are excellent, generous, and beautifully served on the dining table in one of the guest houses. While the rooms are not as well cared for as the downstairs public areas, the room I had had a balcony that looked out over Pedlar St., and was a pleasant place for respite after walking, and the heat. I highly recommend Khalid's guest house(s) for the pretty ambience, great location, reasonable price,, lovely staff and personalized experience.

Great View Inside Galle Fort

This is a great location inside Galle Fort, with gorgeous balcony views. Privacy is a bit of an issue as you share the balcony with the next room and can easily look right into each other's space. Do be aware that this "guesthouse" is actually two rooms inside a family's home. There are extremely loud small children so if you're not keen on hearing screeching at all hours you might prefer a regular hotel. That said, you can't beat the location or the view, and the beds are quite comfortable. It would be overpriced elsewhere, but you're paying for the location here.

Great location in the heart of the Fort.

Khalid and his staff were outstanding. The buildings are charmingly authentic and the rooms are clean and comfortable. I would give Khalid's 5 stars, but the aircon was slow to cool our sea view room. This wasn't a major issue, as the overhead fan worked well, it was just a minor observation.

Great hotel.

Everything about the hotel was fantastic. Central location. BeautifUlly clean and comfortable room. The hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was a bit strange - avocado smoothie was a bit much if you don't like avocados. More choice for breakfast would be good but apart from that this was a great stay and would definitely stay again.

Really liked this place. The young man in the house couldnt be more helpful. The only feedback we had was the cleanliness of somethings. For example, the floor mats were stained and dirty looking. The hotel organised a driver who was a great guide and very well priced.

Perfect location, lovely staff, awesome breakfast

Khalid's is on Pedlar St., which is smack in the middle of the historical Galle Fort. The area is absolutely perfect because you have adorable little cafe's, restaurants, boutiques and cultural sites all within a short walk. The service was just lovely and the room was clean, beautifully designed and with a great balcony that we could lounge around on. The breakfast was super yummy and all the procedures with check in and check out were very easy and fast. We would wholeheartedly recommend Khalid's to any of our friends and would stay there again if we come back to Galle.

Petite guesthouse sympathique. Nous avions réservé une chambre avec balcon et vue mais celle ci n'était pas disponible. Khalid nous a trouvé une chambre sympathique mais sans vue à côté de la. Endroit charmant et calme. Un peu chère tout de même mais c'est la ville qui veut ca paraît-il...
