Serious plumbing issues
No ceiling above toilet, water dripping from visible pipes etc. Woke to a wall completely soaked and the floor flooded; personal items ruined due to water damage. Told reception and got, "didnt anyone tell you the room above you had plumbing issues? Sorry."

A hotel in town
Overall a reasonable hotel to stay at, but nothing special to right home about, Rooms a bit small but still ok. Meals not a great selection but tasty, the specials board was very well hidden, I did not see it until after ordering, Don't think there was Seniors meals or may be I look to young to have a Seniors card. Drinks where cold and went down well. One big bug for me was the motel car park I had to park in the Main Street due to parking spaces all taken.

old and run down
Paint peeling off ceiling, decor very old, Windows old and painted rough, rusty tapware. Old fashioned linen. Felt dirty and creepy.

Reasonable price and it had all that we needed.
A roof over our heads, bars, bistro, cafe acroos the road, in town near all the shops and other facilities.

True budget accomodation
While the room was clean and neat, necessary comforts were missing - no extra bedding or blankets (a problem in winter), no shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Noisy setting in the centre of town.

Pleasant friendly motel on main street of Goulburn
Clean if spartan room. Heating and TV fine. Bistro at motel offered an interesting varied menu, including Korean dishes. Dine early to avoid noisy music.Staff very friendly. Very good for overnight stay.

Convenient and cheap. That's about it..
TV was tiny. The room had a window with a bright yellow street light shining into it all night that couldn't be blocked. The heater was jacked up to 30 all night yet remained ice cold inside the room. And the shower was dark and horrid.

Clean and comfortable
The room was nice, clean, the beds were comfortable, heating worked well, bathroom facilities were clean with plenty of hot water.

Great base to explore local region full of history
Enjoyed the stay. Even though a freezing sub zero night, a few steps from the room and we were into the well laid out dining area with a cozy fire, great food and drink and excellent service. We have no hesitation to recommend to fellow travellers along the Hume Hwy.. .

Why bother
Having booked online as advised by the hotel staff, I was advised when travelling that there was no booking and no accommodation. The staff were less than helpful and I might say quite rude. I will not be staying at the hotel or recommending it.

Ordinary, very ordinary...
There's a reasons why they have no photos of the rooms. Yes the 'bar' has been refurbished but nothing else has been. 1970's i'd say when they last painted etc in the rooms. Dark rooms, paint peeling from the roof and feral carpet. Oh and you can hear the music all night.... I rate the motel as 2 out of 5 stars.

Very old rooms
This hotel is definitely not rated 3.5 if you rated the rooms it would be a 1 While the restaurant and bar have been renovated the rooms are horrible. They would date pre 70's Very old and dingy. Bathroom tiny and dark, an aged person would not be able to shower without difficulty. It was extremely disappointing, I would not recommend or stay there again,

no parking available,had to park on the street both nights,not impressed. Noisy.Old and poor maintenance.Poor lighting.Flat pillows and no spares to boost height.Poor access.

Deceiving information on there site
They show pictures of the bar only which is shown to be brand new and is actually quite nice. The staff member was friendly although after saying that I was overcharged and saying he would change the price nothing changed. The room was disgusting just walking on the carpet with bare feet had my feet go black and the floor felt squishy and damp. The air conditioner didn't work had it run for 3 hours when we went out and came back the room was still stuffy and the air con was barely blowing. The tv was 15" at most and barely visible from the bed. Being so close the the pub there were randoms that walked around out side the rooms making lots of noise.

Great Base for Music Festival
We attended the Australian Blues Music Festival from 12-14 Feb 2016 and chose this motel completely at random. It turned out to be one of the major venues for the festival and allowed us to walk to every gig which was fantastic. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food was superb and service first rate. OK, so the rooms are nothing special but they are immaculately clean and comfortable. We spent very little time in our room anyway as we had better things to do. It would make a great base to explore the region from as well due to its central location. There are plenty of cafes within easy reach and alternative food sources. Two major supermarkets are also an easy 5 minute walk away for those doing self-catering or for other supplies. We will happily stay there again next year if we go.

Comfort and friendliness
I stumbled upon this motel during an impromptu drive from Sydney to Melbourne. I arrived very late in the evening and the hotel manager Anthony was extremely accommodating in waiting up to let us check in. He was welcoming and friendly and exactly what I needed after a grueling day and cancelled flights. Hotel room was clean and very comfortable. They also own a cafe across the street that has great breakfast and good coffee. A perfect oasis to refresh for the night and get ready to get back on the road.

Good value for budget conscious.
Rooms are old, but clean and maintained. Restaurant is odd in that it is self serve. It operates as a sports bar, but would at least be nice for someone to come by and offer a beverage or to refill a beverage.

I know it was cheap accommodation but a bit of an update would be good as the Astor hotel beside it is a great location and newlt renovated - the accommodation takes away form the overall business.

Adquate for our purpose
The room was clean but decor and beds are long overdue for a upgrade. Bed was a tiny double that dipped into the middle. And since the purpose of a hotel room is to sleep there, beds are kind of the most important thing.

This was a reasonable hotel and this two bed apartment really suited our needs - so good to be able to stay up after the kids have crashed. Negatives are the Friday night live music til midnight and the post-close revellers. Worryingly they all seem to drive off in an inebriated state too. Positives are great to be in the Main Street and very clean.

Motel from hell
In all my many years staying in Motels all over Australia and UK this would be by far the worst. I wouldn't even use the shower. Would not recommend to anyone.

Tradies Heaven
The Astor Hotel (the pub bit) is great. The food is awesome and the staff are fantastic. As for the motel, many tradies stay there and once they are wake, everyone else is awake - yelling, slamming hotel doors, starting their V8 utes, slamming vehicle doors. And there is currently a building site next door. Of course, none of this is the Astors fault.

Stayed on a Saturday night, obviously being a hotel their was very loud music until very late at night. Shame they wouldn't consider there guests a bit more and stop the music earlier

It was in a convenient town for me going to Sydney
I was greeted by a friendly staff member and soon realised that I was not going to have a quiet night in the pub or my room due to the band upstairs. I had a nice pizza and a couple of beers. The air conditioner unfortunately could not cope with the cold very well. All of this is quite understandable for the price and being a Friday Night.

You get what you pay for
I am a pensioner, and needed someplace basic to stay overnight. There was not even a toaster, just a jug. No microwave. The bed springs were squeaky, and because the bedclothes were basic, I had to leave the aircon on all night. No breakfast service either, which is why it would have been nice to cook some toast or something. I wish now I had spent the extra 1$10 and gone somewhere where the facilities where better.

DO NOT BOOK!!!
A booking was made, confirmed, and paid. When I turned up to the hotel, they had NO record of the booking or payment and I had to find another hotel to stay at. I have since tried to contact them to organise a refund but they do not pick up their phone. DO NOT BOOK!!!

No frills motel.
The room was so cold the heater barely worked and we had to buy a hot water bottle for some warmth. The shower was dark once you closed the shower curtain. The room was really dingy with nowhere really to sit apart from the bed. Staff were nice.
