"Great Hotel and Location"

"The city pod rooms are in the basement/lower ground level and are not soundproof. They share access with two event spaces which at the time of my stay a private party was being held. You could hear the base and music and people moving around chairs until after midnight. The front desk staff was indifferent and unhelpful. They offered ear plugs which were not effective. There was no warning regarding private parties. No information regarding quiet hours. The room booked was not kept in good condition and had no AC and the proposed fan did not sufficiently cool the room. Since you are at the bottom of the building it is very hot there is one small window that can open but it is accessible from the outside ground level. The hotel is on a street with several nightclubs. It’s a relatively short distance to some attractions but there are better and more affordable locations to book from. I only booked this room for one night and it was my last night out before my flight and it was less expensive for the area and it being a weekend night but it wasn’t worth the price for the experience. The room’s carpet was torn, and so was the chair. There was no mini fridge which isn’t a huge problem but all of the other hotels I booked for this trip (at better rates) had fridges and AC or at least small AC units. "

"The room was clean and neat and small. The bed took up half the room. There wasn't space for luggage so we placed the bags on the bed to change. Conveniently located close to St Stephen's Green park and Trinity College."

"The room felt quite luxurious, decorated in a really pretty way with smart wallpaper, a warm cosy feeling - lovely comfy bed, full length mirror, little touches like loo roll folded over into a point and tea and coffee refreshed daily. It was also all really clean and well kept and very quiet. The powerful shower had a waterfall shower as well as a regular one. It is in a quiet and quite well off neighbourhood, with 2 Tesco extras, Donnybrook Fair luxury food shop (great for buying a cheap daily sandwich on the way in to town), place for a full Irish breakfast or a trendy hipster cafe, and a pub all within 4 minutes walking distance. There are more than 3 buses into town from bus stop 2 minutes away - takes around 15 - 20 minutes. I didn't meet the owner but the cleaner was really sweet and kind. There is a lounge where you can eat a takeaway meal which saved on costs. I had a pizza from a restaurant 5 minutes away. I highly recommend it, its also (incredibly) cheaper than some of the mass market/ soulless type hotels in the centre. I would stay here again if I visited Dublin in the future."

"This is a newer facility than the other Clayton in Ballsbridge. Liked having control of the thermostat in the room. Bed was nothing outstanding. It was fairly quiet, which we loved. The rooms are large so we liked that. Not a bad stay for one night."

"Staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and very well laid out. Kitchenette and all associated items were clean. Bed was comfortable. The shared areas were bright, clean, and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again. "
