Amazing stay. Super clean bathrooms and rooms and the staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious as well! You definitely want to stay here!
My room was clean and spacious. The entire place was quiet and well kept. There was someone available to answer questions if I needed. The host had FANTASTIC suggestions
The property is centrally located. 5-10 minute walk to the historic center. The building itself is old, but well-kept, nicely decorated and has LOTS of character. The staff went above and beyond to make my stay super comfortable, such as providing extra coffee very early in the morning and helping me reserve transportation from the airport to the hotel. I worked remotely during my stay and was able to log in from the living room. It is not a luxury stay, but I would most certainly stay there again for the atmosphere. Highly recommended!
My wife and I visited to explore Zone 1 for a full day and two nights. The hotel staff was great with the complementary breakfast being a better bargain than anything in the states. Sophie also helped us arrange our transport from the airport, and to Antigua.
I enjoyed my stay there. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. They have written instructions for everything from WiFi, to how to operate the shower, or to get transportation. I met the owner, and enjoyed talking to her. I would recommend staying there.
Highly recommend staying here. The property is safe, local, and very comfortable. I stayed here on my way to Antigua and was so glad I did. I will definitely book here again!
This is a beautiful hotel not too far from the airport. I stayed for one night after arriving on a late flight, and they kindly arranged transportation from the airport to the hotel as well as a late check in. The building itself is lovely with old world architectural charm. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was superb. 10/10 would absolutely stay again!
This was a beautiful home located walking distance to the city's historical district. Jessica and Fernanda took great care of us. Breakfast was delicious and we had drinks in the beautiful garden one night before we went to dinner. Wonderful experience!
A nice bed-and-breakfast with wonderful staff. We had forgot something at the hotel and the staff went above and beyond to help us get this important item back to us. We will always be very appreciative. The hotel is clean and the breakfast in the morning is perfect. Thank you so much.
This is a lovely family establishment with a few rooms in a grand historic home near the shopping district and market. Walkable to parque central of Guatemala. We arrived late and Jessica took good care of us with preparing a little meal

Historic and comfortable with Garden and Breakfast
Stay at Casa Carmel is just perfect. It is a 10 out of 10. This sweet little guest house in zone. One of Guatemala city is historic, quaint, and located well for shopping and money exchange. We walked to the artisan market. Fernanda took great care of us and cooked delicious breakfast.
The house and the room are spacious, clean and tidy. The hostess, Sophie, was super helpful and the housekeeper, Fernanda, keeps the place spotless and cooks a great breakfast. The house is old and elegant, it was like visiting somebody’s house which is how it should be.
Beautiful place, when you walk in it feel so peaceful, cozy and confortable to be there; kind friendly people. I will definitely go back. I will recommend this place. Thank l you CASA CARMEL
Very hospitable host with great communication. Let us store bags for the day while made day trip and awaited next reservations. Close walk to central park. Delicious breakfast. Its on a busy street and lively starting @6am which was not a bad thing since we were up early makinh mosy of day. Would come back again
I loved this historic, colonial style hotel. Heavy dark woods, high ceilings, grand spaces. I only stayed a couple of nights which was perfect to see the few sights that Guatemala City offers. The immediate area around the hotel is unattractive, but it’s a short walk to the main pedestrian shopping street and the nearby historic sites. I would stay again
I felt very comfortable. I stayed 2 weeks because of work and it was a quiet and relaxing place with welcoming staff. There is a little garden and the house and furniture was in a cosy, traditional style. It is in the historic city center (zona1) close to shops, restaurants and a 10 min walk from the Plaza. The only minus is that the to blocks from the pedestrian street is kind of isolated, so i wouldnt recommend to walk alone at night.
Pros: Feels like Home. Fernanda is so kind, helpful and makes a delicious breakfast (black beans, plantains and eggs with tomatoes). Room is very clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi is good as well. Lots of stores and food places that you can eat at during the day.
Cons: No AC or Fans, and the area is not safe at night time. Even during the day time you still have to be alert
