This motel has been there a while—it’s been well used and it shows. Really could use some renovating. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The property however, is beautiful!! Sunset and river made it all worth while!

Didn’t give us the room we booked, had to switch rooms, then had to switch rooms again due to a leak in the ceiling and clogged sink and flickering lights (the ones that would turn on). Not impressed.

Great location and amenities and clean

It's a great location on the river and great views, a BBQ to cook on if wish with hammocks, loungers and a fire pit out back. I received a free upgrade due to a discrepancy in the listing for the room I booked with proof of the mistake and the stay was great besides the neighbors loud TV while they weren't even in the room but that's not the motels fault. The rooms are as pictured and clean. I'll be back and recommended to family for a day trip.

The staff put through the charge for the room despite the fact that I was supposed to be allowed to pay on arrival and I had to argue for a refund for the extra guest who couldn’t come. The screen on the door was broken, the bathroom wasn’t clean, the room smelled musty, there was a spiderweb with dead bugs by a bed. My daughter left to stay elsewhere.

Good Hotel!

Check in was quick and simple! Hotel room was clean and beds were comfortable! Hotels usually say they have good tv but usually don’t! This was not the case with the Riverview motel! Had a variety of kids channels which is great to help kids keep occupied during down time! Internet was also really good! Room came with a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker which was great as well! Pizza places, Chinese restaurant, laundromat, 24 hour gas station, Avondale, and Subway are all within walking distance! Across the street from the hotel is a park, pavilion, skatepark, and a pool! Great for something to do when the kids are bored! Hotel has a propane bbq, and fire pit area with lots of picnic tables and chairs to sit on! Kids had a great time catching minnows in the grand river on the dock! The hotel is a 20 minute walk from downtown Dunnville where there is a dollar store, grocery store, restaurants, etc which comes in handy if you need to get something or have forgotten stuff! There are four chickens living next to the property that the kids got a kick out seeing!

Friendly staff. The property is a bit run down but clean. The excellent location by the river makes it 5 stars for me. Perfect for spending a summer evening.

Lovely view and pleasant stay.

Only stayed for one night (on way to airport), but staff were very friendly and room was good value for price paid.

We had a river view room and the window was huge with a beautiful view. Enjoyed the hammocks, shade trees, dock and bonfire pit. The owner, CK is very friendly and hospitable. The beds are comfortable and although the bathroom is a little dated, it was very clean and the property is so lovely that you just wanted to be outside anyway! It was good value for the price.

Cleanliness is definitely not a case here. Stayed at this motel about 5 years ago when it exceeded expectations. Motel rooms were like 3-star hotel. Presently, its bottom line motel.

This is the worst kind of motel that you could imagine. The list of things that are wrong is very extensive. The nonworking fire detector said to replace in May 2020, the water was brown and could not be consumed even to brush your teeth. There was a dirty black sock under my bed when I checked in, the comforters were visibly dirty and ripped at the seams. There are two lawn chairs and a table with a dirty ashtray in front of every room and is used extensively by most of the "residence" so the smell of smoke wafting into your room is like a bingo hall. The furnishings looked like they came from a yard sale or reused store. The vent in the bathroom was bent and dripping a brownish black fluid and the fan did not work, you had to flush the toilet three times for stuff to go down and you had to make sure that you jiggled the handle for to stop running. The list goes on and on, I would not recommend this to anybody other than social services using it as a half-way house to affordable housing to prevent homelessness (which I believe they already are).

Good enough…

Handy stopover for conservation areas we wanted to visit, slightly out of town but close enough for eateries. Just a little dated, mouldy windows and bathroom, but adequate for what we wanted. Room overlooked river which was nice!

It was right on the river. They had lots of outdoor furniture on the large grass area by the river to sit and enjoy the outdoors. There was picnic tables to sit and play cards or eat. There were chairs right outside the room door to sit. The hanging flower baskets were beautiful and attracted bees.

Has the appearance of a low-budget motel (and it is), but we found it clean and comfortable and the backyard is amazing to sit out and enjoy the sunset. Osprey, terns, kingfishers, herons, egrets, all viewable from the property. TV, fridge, microwave, AC and WiFi worked perfectly. Not the Ritz, but I have no complaints (and neither does my more picky wife).

There was nothing to like about this motel. It was dark and dirty and dusty. There was a nest of newborn birds outside our door that were wanting to be fed at all hours of the night. The beds had no support what so ever, the toilet ran on if you didn't jiggle the handle and the shower would turn ice cold in the middle of washing my hair. 2 nights were more than enough. Never again

We used it just to sleep. A well-kept property, however, does require some bathroom updates. Comfortable mattress and pillows.

Basic accommodation with clean room and comfortable bed. The washroom was the worst, and clearly needs improvement. The best part of the stay was the outside. The motel is located right by the river, with an excellent view from the room window. Great outdoor seating arrangement, complete with hammocks, a BBQ and a fire pit. We had a great time with kids exploring the river banks.
