"The hotel was just okay, it seemed a bit old-fashioned, and they're trying to update it. Last night, we had issues with the AC, so we had to switch rooms. We ended up with a sea view, which was amazing! The pool lady was super nice and sweet, so overall, it was a good stay."

"Having the ice and filtered water machines were great , the bar and wait staff were fabulous and Diana from the desk was so helpful in calming my nerves about the weather before we arrived . Everything was meticulously maintained and all staff members were so gracious and that is why I love this Island and have purchased a home to call it my own 🌺🌈🌴"

"I’ve stayed at numerous hotels throughout the Hawaiian islands and I think this is a great hotel for kids and adults. My two kids enjoyed the large pool with a direct view of the ocean and sunsets. The adult pool looked nice too. The hotel room was comfortable and large enough for 4 people. We definitely didn’t feel cramped like most hotels. The view from our ocean facing balcony was amazing and the night time sound of the waves was great. We saw dolphins splashing around in the morning and the manta ray boats in the evening. My only small issues were the pull out bed and our king bed was uncomfortable, lumpy soft, but we slept fine. The drinks at Piko were better than the pool bar. The lunch food was decent, but I did find some flaws that I’m sure most hawaiian restaurants face (bugs). The voyager breakfast was well worth it. In general the staff were very nice and welcoming. Parking valet was easy and quick. It’s a quick 15 min drive to Kona restaurant area. We would totally stay here again."

"Beautiful property with helpful and attentive staff. The hotel grounds were well kept and we even found some great walking paths (in both directions) from the beach. The beach itself is a little rocky but but very beautiful to snorkel from and we saw such beautiful fish and many sea turtles! We also appreciated the well stocked market for coffee, snacks and gifty items. We did not use the spa, but it smelled wonderful on our way to the gym. The Goop store is an excellent touch and the hotel boutique had a great selection of mens and women's bathing suits, hats, sunglasses, totes, jewelry, dresses and purses. They had a small section for kids. The closest mall 'nearby', where the Tommy Bahama restaurant was, is not worth going to unless you need a grocery store. Most retail stores were for rent. There was another shopping area near Waikoloa (Kings and Queens market) with lot's of options and the famous Shave Ice! Note - we did not make restaurant reservations prior to arriving, and we paid the price. We either had zero availability at places we wanted to go, or got stuck with unfavorable time options. It all worked out fine, but we had three dinner meals at their beach bar (which does have a famous chef behind it) - the food was delicious! *Definitely make a Canoe House resy a month or few weeks out. Merriman's is another to get into."
