Good for the price
Cheap motel , no breakfast. Room smelled a bit but bedding was surprisingly nice. So we're all the cats outside. Have gotten a little particular in my years of travel so wouldn't recommend this place unless you just need a place to sleep while driving the Blue Ridge parkway

We stayed 2 nights. The room was quite large and very clean. The price was very good. The hotel is older and the outside does need some repairs.

Country-Themed Motel for the Budget Minded
An older family-run motel with a country flair. Amenities may be lacking and no free breakfast, but they do have free wifi. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and where else will you find a child's wooden hobby horse in the corner. But the biggest plus is the price. One of lowest prices in the area. Easy access off I-77 at Exit 8 in Virginia. Fancy Gap and the Blue Ridge Parkway are nearby.

Clean, older, odd
Room was clean. Motel was older but well maintained. Found it oddly decorated with a huge collection of clown dolls, figurines and paintings.

Small, cheap but satisfying motel
Small motel with the owner's own, um, personal touch of decorating. Nothing great, just a low rate hotel that serves its purpose: a place to rest while passing through.

Cheap one night stop over
The furnishings were well worn but clean. The proprietor appeared keen to interact with the customers as little as possi le. The lobby and room were full of what I would describe of as junk. This place needed de-cluttering. We needed a cheap bed for the night and this place fitted the bill perfectly. However I would not recommend for a lengthy stay.we enjoyed the location near the mountains.

Quiet and charming hotel
Quiet and charming hotel close to Mt. Airy, nC, and I-77. A great drive north on US-52 if you're going north and don't want to bother with the interstate. Also close to blue ridge parkway.

Convenient and Pleasant
This was an overnight stay en route. The people at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, despite the late arrival. The location was convenient to the highway, which was what counted in this instance. The décor was a little strange with dolls everywhere, but overall this was someplace we'd stay again.

Creepy Motel
This was the smallest, most creepy motel I have ever stayed at. It was in pretty bad shape. The room we stayed in looked like it has been falling apart for a long time. The ceiling in the bathroom was bubbled and peeling. The carpet in the room was so dirty I wouldn't walk on it without shoes on. This place made me and my friend so creeped out that we didn't get a very good nights sleep at all. It felt like the backdrop to some Hills Have Eyes movie or something. I would not recommend this place to anyone, even for the low price!!

Good, cheap hotel.
I was looking for an inexpensive room that was clean and where I felt safe. This motel provided that along with very friendly proprietors. I spent very little time in my room. It is conviently located off of I77 and the Blue Mountain Parkway.

A bed & a shower
Stayed one night; just passing thru. All we needed was a bed & a bathroom for the night & it sufficed. There were "homey" touches to our room which were nice but one of the 4 porcelain dolls in our room looked angry & creepy. The lobby/check in area has a crazy amount of porcelain dolls, some for sale. All in all, it was what we needed for the night and was a cheap, clean place.

What a dump
We were unable to stay at this dump. When we entered the lobby it reeked of cigarette smoke. I have asthma and one of the things I cannot tolerate is cigarette smoke. The other is a dusty, musty room. I was ill after a short time in the lobby and room. Please refund my money. I tried to call expedia, but was never able to talk to anyone. I left a callback number, but didn't get a call. I won't book through expedia again. If my money is not refunded.

Close to Blue Ridge Parkway
The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway was a strong factor in our choosing this accomodation. We were unsure what it was like until we arrived. It is in a beautiful setting, and quite quaint. The only thing difficult was finding dining. The night we stayed was a Holiday night (Memorial Day eve) and most places were closed. The room was clean and unique with all the dolls and older furniture. We were quite comfortable.

Noisy neighbors
OK room. King bed was on the hard side for me. We had noisy neighbors. Stayed 2 nights. First night the room next door was loud. Didn't seem like the walls were very soundproof. Second night we had the upstairs room up at 4am. The floor squeaks and you heard every footstep. They finally left and we went back to sleep.

Decorated country motel, very retro
Country View Inn is unique. Outside on the wall is a large sign on the front saying "American Owned." Inside the lobby is a gift shop with lots of dolls, plaques, crafts, etc - which is run on the honor system! Inside our room were about 8 stuffed toy rabbits, some with clothing, some with just plush. It was perfect for my 2-and-4-year-old granddaughters. The place itself is basic and retro, but just fine - comfy beds, wifi, decent TV. The place is in Fancy Gap, just off the highway, but up on a hill and quite quiet. The area is just gorgeous, with lots of mountain flavor and independent businesses. The price was very reasonable. We're glad we stayed there.

I PREFER A CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED FACILITY OVER A HIGH PRICE UNIT THAT IS NOT MAINTAINED FOR MY MONEY, YOUR UNITS ARE VERY AFFORDABLE AND COMFORTABLE. I WAS IN ROUTE FROM WILMINGTON, NC TO PITTSBURGH. ON MY RETURN, I WILL BE YOUR QUEST. THANK YOU, PEG

Horrible customer service
We had a change in our schedule and needed to cancel our reservation. The hotel has no one to answer the phones and it does I other have voicemail; a recording tells you to call back in a few minutes. After twenty minutes of trying to call I called expedia. The customer service representative tried calling for another twenty minutes before someone finally answered. They refused to allow us to cancel our reservation and said they would charge us for a full night stay. So we had no choice but to stay or lose money for nothing. We showed up at 9:35 pm to find the place with very little lighting, a steep hill that was covered with unplowed snow and unable to get up to the hotel. So, they couldn't provide service but still charged us $59 for the night when the price was supposed to be $35 for the night. Even expedia wouldn't help.

Great rate & close to our required destination.
Good 1 night motel. There were 24 rooms (2 stories) & there were maybe 4 rooms used & one had to be right above ours. The room was $39.99 with $6 for the dog ($46) & bill was $59.18. Does that mean $13 was for taxes?

Adequate
Unfortunately, the mattress was horrible, old. The room was clean. The staff good. We like strong coffee, after the first night they gave us extra. The heating / air conditioning system is very out of date, inconsistent, and very loud.

Great value for Migrating Snowbirds!
Stayed here on recommendations of reviewers. Did not disappoint. An old fashioned roadside motel in a very small town bisected by I77, featuring antique shops and a family style restaurant about a mile away. Spiffy clean and nicely appointed with personal, not corporate touches. The only downside was the rather basic cable TV selections. Otherwise, a great value for a one night stop as the migrating snowbirds pass through seasonally.

OUR VISIT AT THE COUNTRY VIEW INN
This was indeed one of the nicest private owned motels we ever stayed in.It was as immaculately clean and so were the bed linens. The last motel I stayed in the bed linens had been used,it appeared so anyhow, terribly wrinkled.I had the pillowcases changed. The Country View Inn was ready to help in anyway,we had a nice coffee pot in our room at our disposal, the room was personally and beautifully decorated throughout, and convenient to snack and ice machines accessible through a rear door in the room, yes a rear door. Also great in case of fire;etc.I've already reccomended it to a family member and will highly reccomend it to others. It is also affordable.
