This was my first stay at this resort, as I usually stay at the Marriott but wanted to try a different hotel.
The lobby area and small restaurant were very nice. The reception staff and service was very friendly. The pool area was too small, not enough chairs and with the placement of the other hotels the sun does not shine on the pool for a long period of time. The area by the outside bar was big, but the chair cushions were a bit old and dirty. They also have a private area for VIP guests, and for an entire 10 days, I did not see one person in that area. It would be nice if they opened it so as people who want to sit outside but maybe not by the hustle of the pool could enjoy some quiet time. The pool menu was limited and not very good. Pricing is expensive but that is par for the course in Hawaii. The actual rooms were very small and smelled of old "hotel", and the air conditioning was extremely loud. The bathroom was also extremely small. Room service was very good as the beds and towels were always made and replaced in a timely manner. Getting chairs and towels for the beach, you had to walk down the street to another "shop" for those, they were not provided within the hotel which was very inconvenient. Overall, I would give it 3 out of 5 stars as we really only slept there but I probably wouldn't stay again.
