We stayed 2 nights at Magpies and truly enjoyed the time. As others have written, it is easy to drive past the entrance, but once you find it - the fun begins. Look for Random Hall hotel, turn in and there is Magpies. A short way down a twisting drive and through a spring gate and you are at a most charming large cottage. A very authentic pub with a hotel upstairs. Food was top notch and very creative. Great breakfast. What stood out was the people - everyone we encountered working at the establishment went out of there way to make sure we were having a great stay. The proximity to the train staion was perfect - just across the street.
