If I could give zero stars I would. Bedding stained & smelled dirty & unwashed. Shower inexplicably ran scalding hot then icy cold. Paper thin walls where you can hear E.V.E.R.T.H.I.N.G. You get what you pay for and this is a lesson learned for us. A definite never again.

The owners appear to be new to the business. The lady was friendly and helpful. The laundry area worked well but could use a cleaning. The shower door leaked water onto the floor which could cause problems over time. A few more dishes would have been useful ie bowls for cereal.

Sehr einsam und abgelegen, nur 3 Zimmer vermietet und Eingangstür offen. Service gab es leider keinen. Auch kein Supermarkt in der Nähe.Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher und Tassen sowie Gläser auf dem Zimmer sowie Tee und Kaffee.

Property was OK, they were giving it a spruce up, room was clean,2 rubbish bins which is a first, shower was great, could have been awesome if the in-house restaurant was up and running, looked a great facility, but also understand about paying extra staff to man it.

Bathrooms had blackmould in shower box and smelled very musty. No dishcloth or washup liquid. No teaspoons or other basic kitchen gear.

Below average
Room was clean and comfortable but lights in the bathroom didn't work and one bedside light was broken and not fixed but replaced with a plug in lamp. TV reception was poor with only three or four channels despite many more listed in the room information. Views outside were of a disused, untidy building.

Great simple motel for overnight stay
Simple hotel with good facilities. Very clean. Quiet location but only short drive to sights and town.

Didnot like this hotel at all. Our room smelt very damp and musty. The reception lady sprayed some smelly around and that lasted 5 mins. Said there was a restaurant and that wasnt operating. Only 2 rooms were being used. The garden and grounds were very unkept. Wouldn't stay here again.

There had obviously been a bit of an issue in the room we were in and the mould along the bottom of the curtain confirmed it as did the damp carpet. The advertised restaurant was non-existent because they could not get staff (but it was advertised). The shower seemed clean and was certainly grunty, but then the shower door fittings and all ledges were paru with grotty looking 'stuff'. Terrible acoustics - clearly heard all conversations in the hallway. Really dissappointing.

Comfortable bed & good shower. Fridge elevated, very inconvenient. This community has suffered hugely due to COVID, unfortunately it is showing in the upkeep of this motel.

High Peaks Hotel below expectation
The dilapidated state of the exterior set the scene for what was to come with lichen growing on the signs, weeds in the guttering and all through the driveway, etc. Reception was no better, being met with a grille closed over the counter, a phone on which you could leave a message but was never answered and multiple surveillance cameras. The unit was no better. Mouldy curtains, a dripping tap, shower screen that a cleaning product had not been near for ages, blood spots on the sheets are examples of what greeted us. While furniture was adequate, other facilities were not. Two thimbles of milk were insufficient for two people for afternoon and morning, there was no dish cloth or detergent, no kitchen plug, no plates or knives, and only one small cake of soap for both hand basin and shower, and near empty toilet roll and tissues. The only reason for actually staying was that the room had to be paid for in full at the time of booking! West Coast businesses have been quick to say that New Zealanders need to visit and spend our money there to help them recover from the effect of the pandemic. Rather than just expecting this as an entitlement, I put it to them that they need to get their act together and offer a product that is deserving of our patronage.

We were the only ones there Street sign not turned on Desk guy wanted to turn all outside lights off at 7 we were going out for dinner and had to ask him to leave them on which he reluctantly did - curtains falling off rail, minimal things in kitchenette - no knife etc Clean
