A beautiful hotel, with a great restaurant and bar in the hotel as well as a bathhouse.
The room was well appointed, with a projector instead of a TV which I liked.
The shower (and water pressure - or lack there of!) was disappointing and didn’t seem to match how well appointed the rest of the room was. I also noted a kettle in the room which is a great addition - but sadly no mugs or tea/coffee supplied.
Staff were pleasant and accomodating throughout the stay.
I'm house-hunting in Hudson, so my wife and I have stayed in a few other hotels and B&Bs there. However, one night in Pocketbook and I'll definitely continue booking there.
I don't understand the complaints about the noise or rude staff, becauee we experienced the exact opposite.
The staff were warm & welcoming, and very friendly. Overnight, it was peaceful and quiet. We stayed on a Saturday night and the hotel was booked out, but besides hearing some light noise above us the next day, it was peaceful.
We stayed in the 250 sqft studio, and although on the smaller side, it was super efficient with a smart layout. Huge mirror on the wall near the exit, a mini bar, toiletries, excellent fade lighting and ample electrical outlets.
No TV, but a HUGE projector available to watch streaming channels without needing to log in.
The only caveat is when you lower the projector screen, you're also covering up the outside light from getting in.
It was a Saturday night, and during check-in we were told about Clutch, a cool 'dance club'space in the lower level. The DJ was phenomenal!
Checkout was a breeze and Alice was super friendly and accommodating.
I LOVE Pocketbook and will definitely return again and again!
This was a very cool new hotel. Easy walk into the cute town of Hudson. They are still working out some kinks, we didn’t have hot water but staff was very understanding and offered us
The room was modern, clean, and perfect for two. I highly recommend the hotel if you are visiting Hudson. Unfortunately the Expedia picture and description did not match what was actually booked. This was not the fault of the hotel as their website accurately depicted the booking. Expedia needs to do better....
No sound insulating at all!!!!
We heard guests above us rolling their luggage bags and clomping around.
Room service, having our bed made was "upon request only!"
A stainless steel bathtub that locked like a coroner's draining bath at a morgue was in the center of the room.
No seats in bedroom.
The restaurant was excellent.
The bathhouse was nice but coed changing area quirky. You had to walk outside across properly in the hotel robe to get to the baths and left with a wet bathing suit.
There was no hot water, lukewarm but not hot. There was not a bathtub, just a shower. Charged a resort fee but the "resort part, saunas, baths, etc. is still being constructed."The staff was great, friendly and helpful. The lack of hot water we realized was at the end of the nite when wanting a hot shower (10pm) so did not want to move rooms at that point, was only one nite.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
The room was nice and clean, but the hotel itself was still under construction and it took 45 minutes for us to get in our room for check-in
I was able to ask for extended check out and we got two complementary drinks from the bar but overall they should have waited to open
Took a night get away here. Room was clean and bed was cozy. Walls are thin though and you can hear others and wonder if they heard us 🙃
Complimentary coffee in lobby was great!
Took a fitness class and it was refreshingly different and grounding.
Shower in room was super odd. Even though there was a silicone ledge, water flooded the toilet area which was annoying and hazardous.
new hotel, people complaining about creeky floors, but guess what its a converted factory with original wood floors.
ONLY ISSUE, baths are NOT open and charging the resort fee. poor form
