“Highly recommended, very comfortable and beautiful place to stay. We were all very impressed with our stay here. Accommodation is appropriately allocated with a high level of privacy. There is a hot tub to soak in in front of the house. And there is a beautiful view around the house. We can sit and admire the view in all directions from inside the house.”

Cozy Stay Despite the Age

"The hotel is a bit dated, but overall it’s a cozy place to stay — especially given the great location right by Lake Mývatn. Don’t expect warm smiles at the reception; the front desk staff were rather expressionless. That said, the restaurant and bar staff were more pleasant and helpful. If you’re traveling around Iceland, it’s best not to expect typical hotel service as you’d find elsewhere. Still, this place was comfortable enough for a short stay and provided the basics I needed."
