"The main advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the ferry. The hotel is functional, not luxurious. Most rooms are not furnished / have the character of a country hotel as featured in the online photos; they are basic! Insufficient sockets, heating not working, lumpy pillows and poor quality linens and towels. The hotel is understaffed (the guy who checked us in on reception was simultaneously serving in the restaurant and showing guests to their rooms .... he is also, apparently, the gardner!) Other staff were not particularly friendly and their English was very limited (considering a large number of their guests are travelling to/from the UK).
However, breakfast was good (chargeable)... I particularly liked the fact that there was an egg boiler available to guests. The hotel is in a quiet area within easy driving distance to Caen, the Normandy beaches, Pegasus bridge and the excellent Caen Memorial museum. We would probably not stay here again."
