"We booked two standard rooms over New Year based on Hotels.com descriptions. Whilst our stay was okay - the standard room was not like the Hotels.com description. There was no TV in either of our rooms, we didn't get water even once (despite asking), and the dustbin in the bathroom had previous occupant's litter in it - YUK!
When we asked for TVs (as per hotel.com description) - they found one (no remote) for one of our two rooms but it could only play content off our own laptop. WIFI is...

"The owner was very hospitable and even let us start a few hours past check out as our flight was at 2pm. Colleen also arranged for a lovely cultural tour at our request. It’s a very nice place and the included breakfast was made to order and delicious! Not some bland breakfast bar. It was like breakfast at a cute ocean view cafe where you could order an omelette or French toast. Great stay"

"This was a very relaxed property with spacious grounds away from the crowds but not too far from the “action” ( note we had a vehicle)
Home grown produce used in the menu that included a lot of vegan options. Did take some time to prepare :-)
Basic accommodation but good value for the price.
Highly recommend you avoid a downstairs room if upstairs is occupied as the wooden floors are particularly noisy. "

"I was very disappointed overall with this place. The location is good, fairly close to the beach, the restaurant is lively with a great view, but my room didn't look like it had been cleaned properly. I found a few earbuds and bottle tops on the floor. The sink was blocked and had to be cleaned out. The room was really nothing else but a room, and everything about it seemed worn and old. The casitas are so close together and walls so thin that I could hear everything coming from both...

"Notre séjour dans la maison n°3 a été une véritable déception. Le logement est complètement vétuste et ne correspond absolument pas aux photos, qui sont manifestement anciennes et très trompeuses.
À notre arrivée, nous avons constaté de nombreux problèmes : des murs moisis, une salle de bains sale avec des robinets couverts de calcaire, une moustiquaire déchirée dans l’une des chambres, ainsi que des draps tachés dans les trois chambres. En ouvrant l’un des lits, nous avons même trouvé des...

"My family and I have stayed in many 5* hotels around the world but, by far, this has to be one of the loveliest places we have ever visited. One night was just not enough and, should we visit Mozambique again, we will be sure to allocate the time to fully appreciate everything this lovely hotel has to offer.
If you find yourself in this area (with a 4x4 car), I highly recommend Travessia Beach Lodge."

What a peaceful place to reconnect with those you love most. The staff were wonderful and the accommodations were well kept. Really the layout, landscape and location cannot be beat.
