The Star Grand Brisbane

"We love staying at the Star Grand Brisbane. However this time at the restaurant at the Sky Deck they had an Oyster and Domaine Chandon Happy Hour from 4 - 6. We went up and ask for the promotion which was $3 Oysters and a glass of Chandon for $12. We were told by the young girl there that they had run out of oysters. I said ok I will just have a glass of Chandon for $12. She politely told me I could not have the Chandon for $12 because I wasn't having the oysters. To which I replied but you don't have any oysters. She said sorry but she couldn't do anything. Very poor for such a great hotel. We will be back but I would expect that if the Star Grand offer a happy hour promotion for 2 hours next time when we get there at 5 (half way through the Happy Hour) we can still get the promotion.."

"The.propery is dated and undergoing renovation. That said, the renos had no impact and the rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. Great location near action at Queen St. Definitely a tourist area, lots of pubs, bars, restaurants, etc. We had.l breakfast there and highly recommend it - good for price. Pool under construction. Self serve coin operated laundry available. Would recommend - good hotel for price. Front desk staff helpful!!"

"Lovely room, with a small kitchenette. Front desk staff were super helpful, provided some recommendations considering it was a very rainy day. Great location to reach south bank. Had breakfast 1 min away at fables cafe which was brilliant"
