I had booked 2 Heritage Rooms at the hotel, about 6 weeks prior to the stay . A couple of hours after check in we compared the rooms + online photograph that we discovered that though one room was the heritage Golden suite (201) the other room was regular/deluxe room (307). I appreciate that the hotels do occasionally have inventory management issues - but I expect to be told upfront, and not have to discover it.
I spoke to the duty manager (Naren) and to Hotels.com agent (Rahul) who conceded I was given the wrong rooom. They said that the only person who could resolve it was the manager. The manager was not reachable on phone that late in night (Naren, Rahul & I each tried). The next morning, the lady at front desk confirmed she was aware of the issue and would resolve once the manager came in. I spoke to hotels.com (Sonali, this time) and they conceded that we did not get the right room. She spoke to the Director, Reservations at Heritage Hotels and the Director apparently accepted that they had some communication issue - with record of only one room reservation. Sonali offered a discounted rate though she asked for 3 days to do so. The fun part is that was when we returned to the hotel this evening - Ms Anamika tried to convince me that the room we were given was also a heritage suite. This when two others from the hotel staff agreed that it was not.
Book this hotel only if you are willing to risk being cheated and expect to be blatantly lied to.
