  • It takes 1,000 butterflies to weigh one pound (.45kg), and the branches on this tree were sagging under the weight. The monarch colony here was quite different than at the more popular El Rosario sanctuary. 40 minutes outside Zitacuaro, near El Capulin, we chartered a couple of tiny mountain horses to take us up the rugged path to view the colony. The monarchs were clustered within a ravine, swirling around a few choice pine trees in search of sunny roosts. Whenever the sun went behind a cloud the butterflies scrambled into the air and back to the safety of the nucleus, knowing that settling down for the night outside the warmth of the colony would mean certain death.

Relaxing and beautiful

Nice place to stay for relaxation and natural beauty. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The property has lots of little interesting spots to explore and a nice library. It could use some maintenance and updating but everything was fine. The meals served at the hotel were ok. Massage was inexpensive and good. The pools are not very warm but the mineral water felt good on my skin.

Estancia agradable conectando con la naturaleza y el silencio ya que no se permite el ruido, las camas muy incomodas, pensé que la alberca era de agua termal caliente pero es tibia tirándole a fría y no la limpian solo por la tarde le quitan el agua, pero lo sucio queda en el suelo y la vuelven a llenar al día siguiente con todos los sedimentos entonces se ve grasosa, y con costras, a pesar de ser termal no se apetece meter, la comida es sabrosa, la propiedad bien cuidada en espacios verdes.

Un lugar tranquilo y conectado con la naturaleza, su gastronomía es sencilla pero está bien, en el tema de las habitaciones se podría mejorar detalles como las almohadas y las camas un poco más cómodas, el área de la alberca podría necesitar una renovación pero en general el resto de la propiedad está bien cuidada. Es un lugar para descansar y desconectarte. El ofrecer snacks durante el día sería un plus, alguna tabla de quesos o charcutería.

Sin duda es un lugar fantástico, calma, silencio, cero personajes con bocinas, cero escándalo, cero contaminación, casi todo es orgánico, súper limpio, caminata, descanso, manantiales, alberquita mineralizada, consciencia ecológica. El sitio web no le hace justicia a lo hermoso del lugar. SUPER RECOMENDADO.

Excelente hotel para descansar

A los adultos nos encantó el hotel pero a los niños no tanto. El agua termal está de pocas pero es poco atractiva para los niños. Los jardines son increíbles: además de la exuberante vegetación hay grutas, cascadas y ríos. Muy buena comida y excelente trato de la señorita recepcionista
