빅토리아 호수 일출보기에 적합

대한민국(남한) 크기보다 큰 빅토리아 호수(일부)의 일출이 보이는 소규모지만 우호적인 우간다 외국인 관광호텔, 교통비가 들어 가격은 싼 편이 아니지만, 1-2박 정도는 무난합니다. 우간다의 수도권 물가가 워낙 비싼 것이 문제이지만 빅토리아 호수 일출 사진이 모든 것을 보상해 주었습니다. 직원들의 친절은 모범적이었습니다. 저녁 거리 등은 사가지고 갈 필요가 있음. 아니면 사 잡수거나 관광 여행사 통해 관광교통 해결하는 것이 중요합니다.

not a 3 star facility

the hotel is in need of an update. the grounds were beautiful. There was food left in the fridge from the last guest and it was moldy. The tv didnt work and it took 3 different sets to get one that worked but the choice of stations was small and not appropiate for english speaking guests. It was highly overpriced. A two star hotel at best.

A warm welcome

A 4-night stay in November 2014 introduced me to the New Madagascar. The shower was hot, the bed comfortable and supplied with a mosquito net. Lots of power points in the room for chargers etc. The hotel's secluded location is a major asset though some might find it also a drawback as transport needs to be arranged for all excursions; taxis are however easily arranged. Power supply through the Ugandan National Grid was unreliable and evenings were affected by noise from the generator but that is hardly the fault of the hotel management! Manager Maureen epitomised Ugandan friendliness with a most pleasant and helpful demeanour. Lovely grounds with colourful plants and flowers throughout. Good wifi (subject to the power being on). Food service was subject to availability but meals were of a good standard, I can recommend the liver! This is one peaceful place - again, unless the generator was running. Rather an intriguing building, with clear views over an inlet of Lake Victoria, and definitely good value at half the cost or less of the business hotels. One warmed very much to the place with all staff very charming and eager to assist. Maintenance work was ongoing showing that the management is attentive to upkeep and to detail. Being at a high elevation there was very little attention from the dreaded mosquito too. No swimming pool here but the atmosphere is very relaxed and soothing. Airport taxi (1hr) costs 80,000-100,000 Ugandan shillings, c. £20.

beautiful view of the Lake

I liked the hotel , the staff was very friendly , I got to watch a few thunderstorms go through the area which I very much enjoyed , it is a very nice place just to get away from the everyday grind

Decent place, your safe here

European and Western travelers have a level of expectation based upon cost and personnel history. This hotel was adequate for the stay but was nothing I would stay at on purpose again.

Beautiful hotel in the midst of Kampala chaos

Very nice and comfortable with lovely, friendly staff. beautifully landscaped grounds. Breakfast to order, dinner and drinks also available. A lovely respite in the midst of Kampala with its heavy traffic, goats, bicycles, boda-bodas, and the culture shock of this city for an American.

Kampala Hotel

For a Kampala hotel the New Madagascar was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was very good and more than enough. The rooms are average size by Ugandan standards. The hotel was a little farther from the airport than anticipated and with the traffic it made it even more difficult.

Chambres avec vue

Bien que situé un peu loin du centre ville de la capitale, cet hotel est agréable au voyageur de passage ou pour un court séjour. La vue est magnifique et le personnel très agréable. La présence du restaurant (bon mais très cher) est indispensable au vu de l'emplacement de l'hôtel. Service de taxi nécessaire.

Beautiful location spoiled by poor transportation

the hotel location is beautiful, the hotel rooms are good and interesting the service was excellent, but the lack of availability of Transportation tax or hotels transport service was non-existent or very poor. The remote location from the city centre makes this all the more difficult for the individual guest. the hotel reception does not accept any credit cards or credit instruments although the reservation is guaranteed by a credit card misleading the guest into thinking that he can use credit cards. The non availability of an ATM requires a guest to go downtown at some distance to pick up money to pay the hotel bill. The lack of transportation to get them down to the ATM makes this challenging. Catch 22

Friendly and helpful staff

The staff at the New Madagascar Hotel were very friendly and helpful, especially Maureen, who seemed to be manager, receptionist, waitress , you name it. She ensured that all my needs were taken care of, including my transportation to the craft markets in Kampala. The hotel sits on top of a hill with a beautiful view but the area leading to it is not conducive to walking about, as I usually do when I visit a new country. It is not very close to the city and transportation by taxi is expensive.

Beautiful Views; free from African hustle & bustle

I stayed in this hotel with my partner for 2 nights at the start of September 2013. It is about 40 miles from Entebbe Airport and the taxi fare from the Airport was $US40 in an Airport-booked taxi. It's a medium-priced hotel. I am very positive about this hotel because of its views and tranquility. If you want a break from the hustle & bustle of African life and to spend a few days chilling out then this is the hotel for you. If you want activity & service then I suggest you try elsewhere. The rooms are small but tasteful & well-maintained. Hot water & shower was effective. Best thing was large balcony complete with table and 2 chairs.

Nice, but expensive for what it offers

The food was expensive, and there ir no cable in the room's tv. The hotel personnel it's very kind. The localization it's a little far form Kampala's downtown but the area is nice and quiet.

Ikke spesielt bra!

Rommene var svært skuffende. Bildene på nettsiden viser ikke standarden på rommene. Dobbeltrommet vi leide var veldig lite, og badet var rett og slett grusomt og luktet ille. Vi flyttet ut før vi hadde bodd våre dager på hotellet.

Very nice hotel

This is a very nice hotel, But you are abit far out from the city and for the dinner they hardly have anything.. So if you want to eat really good dinner i wouldn't recommender the hotel but the chinese restaurant in the center of Kampala and Haandi! :)

fantastisk service och utmärkt läge

Med facit i hand så förstår jag att jag inte kunde hitta ett bättre hotell med en lugn miljö, en vacker exotisk trädgård och en fantastisk utsikt över Viktoriasjön med frisk luft, Ni som vill uppleva romantik i rätt afrikansk miljö rekommenderar jag verkligen detta hotell där personalen gjorde sitt yttersta för trivseln. Frukost ok men reservation för middag, kanske inte av bästa kvalitet samt pris. Hotellpriset var bra. Charlie från Sweden Göteborg

goede prijs/kwaliteit

Wij verbleven 5 nachten in dit rustig gelegen hotel. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk. Buiten een lekker ontbijt moet je niet rekenen op lunch of diner, mar kan je best gaan eten in de buurt of in de stad. Er is geen zwembad maar in Cassia Lodge, op 5 min. stappen kan je zwemmen en lekker eten.

Jeg skal bo på samme Hotel neste gang!

Dette er Africa. Utsikt over Victoriasjøen som er verdens nest største innsjø. Jeg var med på en båttur i en leid båt til den andre siden av bukta, og der satt vi på Motorsykler som kjørte oss dit vi ville. Kampala sentrum er støyende og med en trafikk på meget dårlige veier. På dette Hotellet er det stille, de store fuglene hekker i nærheten og svever elegant over oss. Henry

Einfaches Hotel für Single-Geschäftsreisende

Die Anfahrt ist abenteurlich - für europäische Verhältnisse. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und immer zuvorkommend. Leider sind die Zimmer sehr abgewohnt - zerschlissene Matratzen - Badmöbel Türen fallen ab, Spinnweben im Geschirrschränkchen der Küchenzeile - alles wirkt improvisiert - kein Internet auf dem Zimmer und sehr schwach im Cafe-Bereich. Frühstück sehr einseitig und einfach. Keine Akzeptanz von Kreditkarten! Gemeinschaftsaufenthaltsraum abends vom Personal blockiert - schaut eigenes Fernsehprogramm!
