The Inn at Salado was an excellent choice and I am very happy we chose this place. The Baylor room was perfect, very comfortable! The Jacuzzi would only fill about a quarter of the way before hot water ran out, but overall this was an amazing place and we will be back!

The setting was fine, but the bed was a box spring with a foam pad on it. There was no internet, no tv in my room, so I went down to the living area to use the one there. No instructions for the two remote controls that I was unable to figure out. And no channel info in the living area.
It was okay, but I’ll proba stay elsewhere if I return.

Our room was above the kitchen and smelled like old food odor; not pleasant; bed was just okay
The house had beautifully restored and is lovingly well maintained. I would definitely stay there again.

Veey quaint love the intricate style of each room. Only problem is no air conditioner to control ans no tv which is fine for me but just an FYI. Staff so nice and helpful
I arrived to the “hotel” at 915p and there was no one managing the place. They left a note and a key in a cubby for me that I didn’t see because it was pitch dark. No one answered the phone at the door or the number online. I finally found the cubby with the note and key for me by using my phone flashlight. The note was cordial with instructions and another phone number but mentioned the need for two keys and I had only one. I had the key to the room but not the front door. The caretaker was not onsite and no one answered the phone.
After standing around for ten minutes trying to figure out my next move in finally just started dialing all the numbers over and over. On the third try I got through on one of the numbers to someone who was apologetic about the mistake but was thirty minutes away. She did manage to get someone to open the front door for me but all the doors auto locked so I was stuck inside the hotel until I left. If I went outside I couldn’t get back in. Luckily I had to leave early the next morning.
The room itself was a bit too “quaint” for my tastes. No desk, no tv, tiny sink in the bathroom and an old tub. Overall the room was a bit dirty but maybe that was to be expected at a B&B. Also breakfast started at 9a, about two hours after I had to leave. They did have WiFi.
Overall I would only stay here on holiday if I’m in no hurry.
If contemporary hotel comforts are crucial (sound-proof rooms, TV, spacious showers, etc), you may want to consider a room at your run-of-the-mill chain motel, and spend 2-3 times as much. But if you want to experience the character, charm and ambiance of an early-Texas, turn-of-the-century boarding house, you found the perfect location. Walking distance to all that Salado has to offer, peaceful garden area for relaxing, and the perfect porch for enjoying beautiful Texas sunsets!
My sister and I stayed overnight in Salado. We were shopping at their stores for Christmas. We loved the Inn. Everyone was so friendly. We had a clean and comfortable room, that was lovely. We enjoyed our complimentary breakfast at the inn.
The inn is right where all the cute shops are. The restaurants are so close, and the food is great, and reasonably priced.
If you are looking for cool gifts, friendly atmosphere and friendly people, I suggest Salada.
We had a pleasant stopover in the beautiful town of Salado. The Inn is a great place to stay in historical style. The bedroom is big with large kingsize bed and a good view
Property was in a convenient location. Musty odor in “parlor area”. Breakfast was very good. Only one thermostat for entire house, so we couldn’t control temp in our room
Lovely bed and breakfast right on Main street, close to all the shops. Great room, clean, delicious breakfast, love the period feel. My only complaint are that it was confusing when I first arrived, I did not know where to check-in, but then found the key in the cubby hole. I would have preferred to be met by a person on check-in. The bed was also hard and rather uncomfortable. Other than that, excellent experience, I would stay there again.

Great location, but needs some attention!
Rocky start. When you arrive, on one side of the door is a sign that says go around back, so I did, but there is no office or anyone in the back. Went back to the front door and to the left found a key and paperwork with my name on it. Unfortunately, they had the key right, but directions for a room in the main house (we were in a cottage). Not the most efficient check in, but we figured it all out (until another couple came and had our paperwork and proceeded to try to enter our cottage!). Was excited for the jet tub, but it was rather dirty so never used it. There was not any communication from anyone on site. A woman who I thought was a guest ended up being the manager, but never asked me if we needed anything, etc. For the good stuff...great location! Could not ask for anything better. Price was great. With a little work this place could be spectacular. Breakfast was ok, but could have been much better. Rather cold buffet and again, no interaction with the manager at all. No TV's in the room which was odd. All in all, will probably stay elsewhere for my next visit. And they really need to work on the check-in process, or at least let people know ahead of time how it works. If we had gotten there after dark it would have been much worse.

Delightful
This was my first B&B experience and it was delightful! The breakfast was delicious!
It was a very nice place. The room was comfortable and the location was great! The only negative thing would be, you could hear everything through the walls. It is an old place, so it is understandable, but just know that if it is a romantic getaway😉
Celebrated our 43 anniversary there. Spent two nights. Wonderful service, excellent breakfast, and neat places to sit outside under the mossy oak trees.
Good, quiet place for an anniversary get-away. Enjoyed the nice breakfast in the dining room. Pretty, old house furnished with antiques, close to shopping, art galleries and local restaurants.
Toilet didn’t work upon arrival. No one was available or greeted us on arrival. Later found out the toilet was turned off but took a few hours for resolution. Remember on was warm first night and there was no thermostat in room that we could locate to adjust. Overall negative experience. This was our second time to stay her and first time was amazing but we most likely won’t stay here again in the future.

Short stay
We were not met by an innkeeper, though there was a note of explanation. We never met or saw the innkeeper but the help was accommodating. The breakfast was adequate but not as tasty as with other bed and breakfast inns where we have stayed.
