Nicely situated a short drive from La Fortuna and the Arenal volcano park. The on-grounds farm was a nice extra. Great variety of pools, hot springs, and jacuzi. Morning breakfasts had nice variety. Staff was wonderful.

Property was nice, exceeded expectations. Rooms were cute with each room separate cabins. Property is smaller than it looks in the pictures, and is a bit towered over by a hotel next door. Direct view of volcano. Restaurant was beautiful with lots of birds. Breakfast was great (didn’t try any other meals there). Hot springs were much nicer than in the pictures.

Beautiful property and wonderful staff . Loved our stay here ! Location was perfect as were the cabins, hot pools…our breakfast was great . Watching all the birds in the trees at breakfast each morning was a highlight . The farm was so fun . We were lucky enough to be there when a new little calf was born. Loved the calm and quiet atmosphere here after our very active days . Can’t say enough about how courteous the staff are too .. was such a pleasure to be there .

The hot springs were the highlight! Very nice grounds with tons of birds you can see in a feeder outside the restaurant. Great idea. The villas have nice bathrooms but the rooms are too dark. More and brighter lights are needed.

If you have kids and aren’t looking for the large crowds of a touristy resort, this is a hidden gem. A working farm with horses, donkeys, chickens, hens, and a huge pig named Bella. Endless entertainment! Our kids milked a cow, collected eggs in a hen house, and rode a horse. In addition, a small playground and trampoline setup and beautiful hot springs where we were the only ones there each day. Incredible! Only negative is the beds aren’t the most comfortable and coffee could be better. Food is very good and they actually utilize their farm for the restaurant. All of the staff were fantastic. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and are bringing home many wonderful memories thanks to our stay at El Silencio.

The staff were extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms were very comfy and clean. There was so much to see and so much relaxing to do here that you needn't go off site. Watching all the birds at the feeders was my favorite thing to do here. There was so much nature all around. PuraVida!

Its a very beautiful and cozy resort with lots of animals and birds. The hot springs are picturesque. Our villa was spacious and cozy. The staff is very nice, friendly, and very attentive. It's a pretty interesting property 1 large geothermal pool and 2 small ones. The grounds are kept very clean, I would say it's pristine compared to La Fortuna and they have their own farm that supplies milk, eggs and vegetables.

Great quiet retreat

We really enjoyed the grounds and hot springs. Everything was very walkable and the farm was a nice treat. Breakfast was OK but or dinner was very good.
