"Hotel was clean and tidy. The breakfast room assortment was appreciated for a quick morning meal. Room size was good and fridge/microwave were helpful. Limited parking in the front, but ample parking in the back."
"We arrived to a quick check in with staff holding open the doors for us and offering to help with our luggage. We arrived to a spotless room which was well furnished and comfortable. Dinner followed in the main dining room with a scrumptious meal including wine, salad, dessert and a unique main course. Returning to our room after a walk, we found the air-conditioning was not working. I let the front desk know and they sent someone immediately to fix the situation. Staff informed the General Manager of the situation and he promptly put us into an upgraded lakeview room with a king bed. I was told that our comfort was a priority and leaving us in a hot and stuffy room was unacceptable. A staff member was sent to help us move and we were settled in our new room. After a quiet and peaceful rest, we awoke to a lovely buffet breakfast with fruit, pastries, breads, eggs, bacon, etc. There were many activities at Windemere house, some guided by staff and others independent with equipment provided. All of the staff was lovely. Daily cleaning and turn down service were always part of our stay. Cloth napkins were wrapped around our cutlery at every meal, even in the pub. This really made me happy-- I detest paper serviettes! Finally, I had the best reuben sandwich at the Windermere House Pub that I can remember. Thank you to all the staff at Windermere House for making our stay comfortable, pleasant and memorable."
"My husband and I stayed in one of the luxury tents at Dwight Riverside Inn from July 8–10 as a surprise birthday getaway, and we had an amazing experience.
We were looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, and this was exactly what we found. Dan, the owner, welcomed us warmly, made check-in quick and easy, and provided excellent recommendations for local restaurants and the best places to visit in Algonquin Park, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
The tent was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with a cozy bed, a hot shower, a private bathroom, and a lovely deck where we enjoyed our morning coffee. I had expected mosquitoes to be an issue, but the tent was very well sealed with screened windows and a mosquito net around the bed, so we didn't have any problems.
One of our favorite parts of the stay was waking up to the sound of birds each morning and listening to them again in the evening. Even though we had one rainy day, we still enjoyed relaxing in the tent. We didn't get to use the barbecue or fire pit, but that just gives us another reason to come back.
If you're looking for a glamping experience that combines nature with comfort, this is the perfect place. Thank you, Dan, for your wonderful hospitality and for helping make my husband's birthday getaway so memorable. We highly recommend Dwight Riverside Inn and would gladly stay here again."
"We only stayed one night as a stop on a journey. We were pleasantly surprised that a continental breakfast was included although we did not use it as we had other breakfast plans.
The room was clean but a bit dated. They did note they were in the midst of a renovation so I am sure things will be great when that is done. The deodorizer they sprayed was a bit too pungent but I noted that to them.
All in all a fine stay."
"Beautiful resort. There are mostly homeowners staying here or locals. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Entertainment is definitely limited, so it is good for short stays. The pool bar had good service but music was so quiet and selected by staff. Several times, there were no towels available beside the changeroom. Also, the dirty towel pile in the changeroom was there both days we were there (not emptied). The hot sauna was nice on a rainy day. Overall, a cute short stay for a couple."
