"El hotel está aceptable en sentido general, menos unas pocas actualidades que no me parecieron bien. Primero, el desayuno es por reservación. Bajamos todas las mañanas a desayunar sin reservación hasta que me mandaron un mensaje por WhatsApp sobre las reservaciones. Cuando le preguntamos sobre el mensaje al recepcionista que estaba a las 21.00 hrs el viernes 28/3 nos respondió con un carácter irónico. El empleador debiera a enseñares a el personal como comunicar si ya no es algo adquirido en el desarrollo. "

"Nice hotel with friendly staff in a great location. The rooms are clean and spacious and the breakfast is of a good standard. Unfortunately I left an item of clothing behind and the hotel wasn't very helpful as they would not post it to me, even though I offered to pay the costs. I would have given a much better rating if it wasn't for this as it would show they were prepared to go the extra effort for guests. "

"Honestly no idea how this property has scored anything above a 2. Plus points. Handy to bus station. Friendly check in staff. Nice reception area. Bad points. Room falling to bits. Bathroom horrible and dirty. Windows and floors dirty. Breakfast extra $10 (we didn't bother after seeing the state of the hotel). Advertised as having a guest laundry - it doesn't but has a paid (and expensive) laundry service/dry clean. The area around the bus station is grotty and lots of homeless and dirt. Four hotels so far in South America This was the worst except the nice friendly female at reception was very pleasant and helpful. Stay in the old town/port area or near the southern beaches This area is unpleasant to stay in and it's worth the cost of the uber to stay somewhere else."

"This is like a bed and breakfast in old town Montevideo. The free breakfast was outstanding. The location is very convenient for access to the port, the port market, and many museums. We added a combined walk/car tour to intensely experience Montevideo during our 4-day stay."

"I booked and prepaid for a 10-day stay at Hotel Europa, but I left after just one night and forfeited the rest of my reservation because the conditions were unacceptable. The room was not just outdated—it was dirty and poorly maintained to a level that felt unsanitary. The mattress was visibly stained, the furniture was covered in dust and residue, and multiple surfaces looked like they had not been properly cleaned in a long time. The bathroom had rust, grime, and buildup in several areas, and there was a persistent moldy smell throughout the room. Even the basic structure of the room felt neglected, including damaged fixtures and a door that did not feel secure. The overall condition made it impossible to feel comfortable or safe staying there. Because of this, I had to find another hotel immediately, which caused unnecessary stress and additional expense during my trip. I have included photos to document the condition of the room at the time of my stay. I strongly advise other travelers to avoid booking here, especially for longer stays. The listing does not accurately reflect the reality of the accommodations."
