I get that this was not a 5 star facility, however, the beds can definitely do with a substantial increase in the comfort and quality. I’m always surprised to find stiff and uncomfortable beds in motels. After all, that’s what a motel is right? A place to sleep..!!!

Turned up at 14:30 only to find reception closed and a note on the door showing what number room we were in. Go to the room only to find another couple in there. Called reception they were half an hour away. Arrived & spoke to the couple in what was meant to be our room, mixed communication, we get asked if we would take their room instead because “all the rooms were the same”. I had paid for an upgraded room in my booking but felt I didn’t get that. The room smelled, carpet was stained, woke up to things crawling on us & a spider coming down from the ceiling fan. Room very outdated & run down.

The room was unrenovated, the shower base filthy black, the toilet seat rough to sit on due to age. Couch in the room was dirty and under the bed there was a used cup and a inhaler of some sort as well as mountains of dirt. For over $100 it was of a very poor standard.

Great spot but need more care between guests
Generally the room was well equipped. Unfortunately the carpet was very dirty, it hasn’t been vacuumed for a while. Table and surfaces were not clean either. Such a great spot so it was disappointing.

Good basic motel in a quiet part of town. Does the job and is fine for the price . Some of the reviews are really bad but I think it’s ok for what I expected . Good heating

Staff were very friendly and accommodating towards a late check-in. The heater was on in our room at arrival. Facilities were as expected for price paid, old but in working condition. Room was mostly clean but attention not given to small details e.g. dust on top of light switches, cobwebs in toilet. Overall I was happy with our experience of staying overnight as a half way point in our travels.

I loved my room and large bathroom it was very quiet and convenient. There was a slight smell to the room and a few spiders webs and ants. Otherwise, it was great.

The carpets and room needs a good clean also had to remove the battery from the smoke alarm as it kept going off every half an hour and the reception wouldn't answer the door at 7pm to fix the issue.

Very dated noisy air conditioning poorly located. Room was clean and tidy despite its age. Room charge reflected the shortcomings.

We enjoyed our 3-night stay. Opal is clean, everything we needed was there and worked well. Management was responsive to special requests. Sure, it is dated, but for the price we thought it was excellent value.
