This place needs a total renovation. I was expecting it to be nicer than the average hotel, but that was not the case. Bathrooms were old and had rust and mold. No washclothes at all. This location was also very loud.

Not great value I am afraid. The superior room was adequate with a nice view of the cathedral but for the price (£150 without breakfast) it was disappointing. We were also charged another £7 for the car park and were warned if we didnt return our electronic door key we would be charged. Never known that before. Very few toiletries in the small bathroom and some of the windows needed a lick pf paint. No not great value.

Room disappointing. Only 2 hangers. No information in the room as to facilities. However room was quiet until 7am Sunday and bed was comfortable.

Management need to decide if they are running a nightclub or a hotel. There was wedding event during our stay, with a disco running into the small hours. The walls and windows of our bedrooms were shaking, earplugs made no difference. This is a hotel to avoid unless they decide which customer base they are trying to attract.

No movable hand-held shower head, just the one at head height, which is no good for washing your legs, underneath etc. Towel storage area is above the toilet bowl rather than at foot end of bath. Extractor fan doesn't work.

The dining room floor was very sticky and needed a good mop in contrast the breakfast was really good. what let them down was we were not told we needed to get our car out of the car park on Sunday morning as there was a 10K race organised and the roads were closed. we were stuck till the race finished. Not one member of staff mentioned this fact, either when we checked in or at breakfast. Poor communication.

Probably the best location in Lincoln overlooking the Cathedral, with the added bonus of excellent parking. Some aspects of the hotel were new and modern - the deluxe bedrooms for example, but other areas were dated such as the lift and corridors. The exterior is due a good clean and/or repaint. The breakfast was buffet style with little personal interaction. For such a well positioned hotel it needs to improve its customer service.

Comfortable, friendly and affordable. I was in Lincoln for a conference, I'm so glad I stayed here not in in the conference centre! The walk through town was a real treat (I wouldn't have seen this medieval jewel of a city if I'd stayed by the river). The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was tasty. All in all a really great stay. I'll be back in town for the conference next year and hope to stay in the same place!

Awful experience. Room directly over wedding party
Hotel needs better maintenance, sink plug stuck in, bathroom mirror steams up in seconds wh n in shower and takes long time to unfog (poor extraction), window next to bath/shower is misted but when light on the people outside can see you in shower still. Toilet only flushed if you held the flush down for 10 seconds. No plugs to the sides of the beds so couldn't reach phone if on charge at night, curtains in bedroom had gaps at ends so people could potentially see in if you were stood at the end of them. Room next to us door would not lock when guests tried to go out so heard the door shutting a million times when trying to fix it. Wedding was a n the hotel the same night we were there and we were put in a room directly over where the disco was, music, DJ and people heard up til 12pm (we were in bed at 10) so couldn't sleep as it was "very very loud". Why did we get put in this room and not someone who was there for the wedding party so it didn't matter to them?! Breakfast was ok but plates were very very hot and had no napkins near to pick them up with (sounds like it's a stupid moan but really burnt our fingers and nearly dropped the plates), no tea bags when we got in there, no sauces (red or brown), had to wait for bread. Overall not a good experience, I can manage with all of the above but being in a room directly over a wedding disco in a hotel with little to no sound proofing is unacceptable. Told the staff on the way out (politely as it was not the lady's fault).

Good central location but could be even better.
We enjoyed the great central location, friendly and helpful staff and a good restaurant. Having paid extra for a cathedral view, it was disappointing that the windows were filthy both inside and out. The TV aerial cable was discoloured from where it trailed across the 'do not cover' convection heater: positioning the TV on the wall above the heater doesn't seem the safest option. Also the cleaner seemed to have sprayed the bed with Febreze one morning, including my iPad which I'd left out. I've not experienced that elsewhere but maybe that's how it's done now. Parking on site was plentiful and good value at £7 for the stay. The hotel should consider installing a charging point for EVs and PHEVs. More generally Lincoln is a great place to visit.

Comfortable, Great Location and Free Car Park
My first visit to Lincoln and this is tricky...all staff from reception to bar/restaurant and room cleaners were brilliant...welcoming, friendly, helpful and a joy. Rooms were very clean and cosy being kept very warm during what was a very cold spell...a little too hot for some ! And plenty of hot water for good shower/bath. Location was exceptional being opposite cathedral and close to a plethora of super independent shops and some restaurants which didn't have time to sample. Breakfast room and restaurant both have a great view of the cathedral through panoramic windows and you'll even be able to watch the Red Arrows practice whilst eating breakfast if you're lucky like us. So here's the rub...food...breakfast provides a great selection but the hot buffet was not as hot as it should be on both mornings (admittedly we attended near 0900) toward end of sitting but better warming facilities are needed...and you can order something freshly cooked if you wish, so bear in mind if happy to wait...I'm sure it will be good. Likewise evening meal, menu good. food presentation good but lacks taste/flavour..as if preprepared and warmed. Send chef to Castle Hotel where sampled excellent braised beef second night ! Also lift a bit dodgy but works. Lastly Car parking was excellent..very easy with good size spaces..a real plus. Thank you for lovely stay. I will likely return to check if comments taken on board as if food improved I would give 5 stars for excellent hotel and value.

A little disappointing stay in a beautiful City
Lincoln hotel is in a great location- very close to the Cathedral. Stayed in this hotel several years ago but was very disappointed this time. The hotel needs some tlc as it’s looking a little outdated and tatty. Very hard pillows and freezing cold shower.

An overnight break
Our room was reasonably clean although there was something sticky on the carpet. The bed was spotless and comfy. The hospitality tray was well stocked. The room was very cold when we arrived and took ages to warm up when we switched the heater on. Staff were always polite and friendly.

Overpriced for a run down care home style hotel.
Exterior looked like a run down office building. Upon entering the wrong entrance the bar lady was unhelpful in giving directions to the reception, the reception lady was grumpy and unwelcoming. The bedroom was small and dark, the window view was a very run down court yard with just other bedroom windows and an ugly staircase. Bathroom door was a few feet away from the bed and the toilet instantly inside the bathroom door, so privacy on the loo was minimal. The bathroom was old and ugly like an old care home, the bath looked at least 50 years old but not in an antique way, more like a stained way. Massive horrible shower curtain to make it even worse. The radiator in the room was oversized so if it’s on your cooking hot. It did have a TRV on though. Windows looked like care home windows. Two good things to say about the room was a comfy bed and a table with a kettle and coffee. Overall a terrible hotel for around £150 a night. Bar downstairs looked ok but didn’t drink in there.

Please dont put guests who have paid good money into the older part of the building. Its not fair in this weather. Was offered a heater. Had to sit in the bar for heat before bed. Nice hotel but insist you are in the actual hotel my room was 222

Was a lovely stay. Room was excellent and staff was amazing. Couldn't fault the first nigths stay unfortunately the second night's we was woken very earlier by the family staying in the room next door shouting and screaming and this was going on for a few hours until they left the room. But the hotel itself and staff was all amazing.

Food was exceptional. We had breakfast and dinner every day and couldn’t fault it. Room clean and serviced in a timely manner, if in need of a refresh. Staff friendly, helpful and professional. Disappointingly bathroom products still single use plastics but would still recommend this hotel - ideally situated to explore the city.

Folly by the Cathedral.
The Staff were excellent. The room was okay ( Heating needs updating) Whoever was granted planning permission to build this blot on the landscape must have given a bung or been on the council committee! So out of keeping with the surrounding area. Lastly I must say Lincoln is a wonderful city.

In need of some TLC…
Nice quirky hotel in need of a bit of TLC. Great location, if you don’t mind the cathedral bells, for the top end of Lincoln and the Bailgate. We got stuck in a rickety old lift which was going nowhere until the receptionist gave the buttons a good old bashing! I’m just going to say one thing about our small room and bathroom “shower curtain” 🤔

The Lincoln is a health hazard it stinks of mould the room windows were filthy the shower taps came off black mould in bathroom. The staff smelt of Body Oder. We didn’t even stay there we rather have slept the night in our car.. It is time Expedia inspect the hotels you had 4 star it wasn’t even 1 star. I wouldn’t let my dog sleep in that room.I have asked Expedia to contact me

Disappointing
The room was run down, the bed was so hard and sounded like it was going to break when you turned over. There were cobwebs all over the ceiling. Furniture had dust on them and marks all over. Cannot believe breakfast was £11 per person so went and got a lovely breakfast elsewhere.
