If you are picky at all, you should NOT book this hotel. You won’t be happy.
But for those people who are lower maintenance, this hotel deserves 10/10!
PROS- Front desk is awesome! Friendly and accommodating staff. The best!
Vibrant cultural area.
Much lower price compared to DTLA.
Close to USC. Ride-share is under $15 to USC campus.
Room, elevator, stairwells, reception, and common areas are very clean.
The room is quiet, with a little bit of city noise that’s easily blocked out by running the a/c.
Bedding and towels are nice.
Cute little coffee shop is steps from the lobby.
Easy walking distance to many dining options.
CONS- (which I’m mentioning more for those who want an upscale hotel experience, in which case you shouldn’t even stay here)
Room is NO FRILLS. I mean NONE.
Bed is VERY firm. Many reviews mention it, and I agree. It’s too firm.
My room had new flooring and bathroom fixtures, but very basic cosmetic fixes were ignored during what appears to be a recent room refresh- there are unpatched nail holes where a picture used to be, peeled paint around the shower, and poorly patched holes in walls and doors.
TV doesn’t have access to most basic channels.
All that said, it’s still 10/10 for those who can appreciate the PROS and overlook the CONS.
