Everything was going fine until the second day when we noticed some black stains on the bathroom wall. The wall covering was loose so I peeled back a corner and the wall was covered in black mold and small clouds of mold dust drifted to the floor. We were moved to another room where we found socks in the garbage disposal. These were both issues that could have, and should have, been discovered by hotel staff before we arrived. The fact that there was no offer to comp at least part of our stay for having put us in a room with mold infestation and the inconvenience of having to repack and move to another room says a lot. It's either a problem with the property policy, staff training or possibly both. Nice rooms, decent property in a good location, courteous and friendly staff, all ruined by some serious maintenance oversights. Oh, and the property is undergoing renovation which should probably be stated at the time of reservation. Let's hope they're doing some mold mitigation in the process.
