I can’t say enough good about Hotel Residenz. The staff were friendly and VERY helpful In answering our questions and helping us when needed. The room was clean, quiet and exactly what we had hoped for. The included breakfast surpassed anything I could have expected and for 2 plant based eaters, there were more than enough choices. I’ll stay here again in a heartbeat next time in Passau

A cosy stay with excellent breakfast
Our stay certainly lived up to expectations and the breakfast exceeded them. A better breakfast display of really tasty produce than we have experienced in many more expensive 5 star hotels. The hotel has a great location for the Old town and Christmas market. Our rooms,l were spacious and quiet with comfy beds and very clean bathrooms with lots of hot water. We would definately stay again.

Old Passau is a wonderful place. Lovely hotel facing the Danube River. Excellent rooms with a view of the castle on the other side of the Danube. Only negative is the bathtubs are very slippery so beware of falling.

Staff was extremely helpful. We had a last minute emergency that required a schedule change and the staff worked it out for us. Great location, right on the river and right on the edge of old town. It's a little over a 15 minute walk to the train station. Great breakfast

We stayed at this hotel for two nights after our river cruise. It’s a very pretty city fairly easy to walk around and a nice shopping area. Restaurants are close by. The breakfast was very good-great omelette.

The Hotel was located in an exceptional location with easy access to the old town. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The front desk accommodated us with every request. The morning breakfast was superb!! We hope to return some day.

Very nice room. Helpful, friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast. The embarkation point for our bike and barge trip was moved due to high water in the Danube. The staff arranged a shuttle to get us to the new location. No problem. I highly recommend this hotel!

Hotel Residenz Passau was a great place to stay in Passau. We were able to walk from the railroad station to the hotel. The hotel property is beautiful and wonderfully decorated, right on the banks of the Danube River. Our room overlooked the Danube, which was great! The service people were wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast was outstanding (best in Europe that we have had). The hotel has easy access not only to the Danube and river cruises, but it is in the heart of Passau, so seeing the sites of this wonderful city is very easy!

Sweet but no repeat
A very sweet hotel facing the water with lovely AC. I confirmed a breakfast box and taxi to the train station for 6:30 as breakfast was included but did not open until 7:00. No one was at the front desk to check-out and a sign stated they did not open until 7:00. This would have been helpful to know when I check-in. No taxi and no breakfast box. I had not paid my bill, so I left a note to charge my credit card and walked to the train station.

Great hotel; cozy and comfortable with a super friendly staff. We stayed in 10 different hotels during our three weeks in Europe, most much more expensive, but Hotel Residenz Passau was our favorite.

Compact gem on the Danube
Although the room was small, it included everything we needed. The bathroom was tiny but so well arranged it didn't matter. The view of the river includes the many boats available for cruises, but the scene on the opposing bank is beautiful. The location is ideal, near shopping and restaurants and the boat cruises. We took a 2 hr cruise on the "Kristallschiff" that was truly lovely and relaxing. Elegant, with anything you could want to eat or drink. The scenery was gorgeous. Also, the hotel is located practically next door to the world famous Glass Museum Passau. The staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this reasonable gem.

A Gem on the Danube
Hotel Residenz was in a perfect location for us--right on the Danube in the old part of the town. They had an inviting lobby area, a knowledgeable English-speaking staff, and a fabulous breakfast buffet. When we were leaving for our riverboat cruise, they even asked what boat we were heading for and were able to tell us it was located in a very different place than we had been told by Viking We were able to walk to our riverboat and all parts of old Passau. We even walked from the train station (a bit under a mile away). I don't see how anyone could go wrong with this hotel--the price was also very reasonable, especially because the breakfast was so good.

Ein wunderbares Hotel, sehr nettes Personal, welches in jeder Situation hilft. Der Wellnessbereich ist wirklich toll, man kann dort sehr gut entspannen. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Auch mit der Gepäckaufbewahrung hat alles geklappt. Einen Stern zieh ich ab, weil das Bad bei unserem zweiten Aufenthalt leider nicht vorher gereinigt wurde. Auf dem Boden lagen diverse Harrbüschel und die Dusche war verschmutzt. Trotzdem würden wir noch mal dort übernachten.

Habe mich dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Kann ich für einen Besuch in Passau nur empfehlen. Die Parkmöglichkeiten sind jedoch sehr eingeschränkt. Bei der Nutzung des Parkhauses am Römerplatz ist zu empfehlen, wirklich alles vorher auszuladen. Der Weg ist doch sehr weit.

Erstklassiges Hotel um Passau zu erkunden
Tolles 4-Sterne-Hotel an der Donau, fußläufig viele Sehenswürdigkeiten erreichbar. Stufen zum Eingang, Geländerhalt vorhanden, Kofferrampe. Eingangsbereich beeindruckendes Ambiete, liebevoll eingerichtet u. sehr gepflegt. CheckIn unkompliziert, alle Infos bekommen inkl. Restaurantstipps mit ehrlicher Küche. 1. Zimmer zum Innenhof, defektes, pfeifendes Heizungsventil, unkomplizierter Zimmerwechsel. 2. Zimmer mit Donaublick, Allergikerwäsche, sehr ruhig, allerdings war der Schifftourismus vorm Hotel nicht in Betrieb. Das Zimmer war groß, 3 Sessel, Beistelltisch, Schreibtisch, TV hängt hoch, verstellbar, schnelles WLAN, Klimaanlage. Bad mit Schiebetür, rutschfeste Badewanne u. Haltegriff, Doppeldusche, sehr gute Abluft, Kosmetika kostenlos. Frühstück sehr vielseitig, frische regionale Produkte, 9 Marmeladen (Eigenproduktion), 3 Honige, Sekt, Säfte, Warmgerichte, Käseplatten, Fisch, x-Aufschnitte, Tees, x-Kaffesmöglichkeiten und, und, und ... der Wahnsinn. Eine Mischung aus Service am Tisch und Buffet. Service sehr aufmerksam u. natürlich freundlich, nicht gekünstelt. Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, familiengeführt. Terrasse mit Donaublick, war für Frühstück leider zu kalt. Wellness wurde von uns nicht genutzt, keine Wertung. Kostenpflichtiges Parken in Tiefgarage 300m entfernt, allerdings nur für "kurze" PKWs (Golfgröße), sehr eng. Vor Eingang 4 offene kostenpflichtige Parkplätze. Ein- und Ausladezone vorhanden. Dieses tolle 4-Sterne-Hotel ist sehr empfehlenswert. Stand 3.2023

Gute zentrumsnahe Lage direkt an der Donau. Jedoch über dem Fluss verläuft die Bundesstraße. Der Frühstücksraum hat leider kein besonders schönes Ambiente und ist einfach gehalten. Negativ: Parken im Parkhaus in 250 m Entfernung.
