The location can’t be any better: right on the promenade of Ribeira Brava, in the middle of the city Center with all its restaurants, the market, the concert stage, local and touristic shops. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The hotel is not new, but has everything one needs. Enjoy!

Un bon hôtel pour une très jolie ville.
Nous avons passé 9 nuits à l'hôtel et dans l'ensemble, nous avons été très satisfaits du séjour. Les draps étaient changés quotidiennement et sentaient vraiment très bons, le lit était bien refait et les serviettes repliées et/ou changées selon notre souhait. La chambre est assez spacieuse et fonctionnelle avec coffre fort, frigo et kitchenette, la vue sur la rue et la mer n'est pas désagréable. Les quelques bémols porteraient surtout sur l'isolation accoustique de la chambre, car en cette période, les rues sont passantes et quelques concerts ont lieu, mais se terminent à minuit, après c'est calme. L'aspirateur n'était pas passé régulièrement, mais si l'on demande, cela est fait. Il y avait un peu d'humidité dans la salle de bain par absence de fenêtre dans la pièce, mais dès lors que l'on aére, c'est vite parti. Tout le personnel est très gentil, poli et à l'écoute. C'est une ville très dynamique, conviviale et accueillante, et nous ne regrettons en aucune façon le séjour passé tant à l'hôtel qu'à Ribeira brava.

The view was very nice. Nothing much, good to say, about this stay. My advice to others would be... "Stay there if there is nothing else available" otherwise run!

Toller aufenthalt, bestens gelegen am meer. Parkmöglichkeiten vor dem hotel. Mitarbeiter sind extrem freundlich. Hat man nicht überall. Frühstück könnte etwas abwechslungsreicher sein, ist aber solide. Kommen gern wieder.

We had the best stay at the Flag Hotel! The twin room was just the right size for two travelers. Ribeira Brava was a charming part of the island!! It was quiet and everyone was so kind. Above all, the staff at the hotel made our stay phenomenal. Joel went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible trip! He booked tours for us, scheduled taxis, and was genuinely excited to hear about our adventure. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Ma che dire, io e la Mia chica pensavamo di soggiornare in un appartamento con vista mare e balcone ed invece abbiamo trovato una stanza di 10 mq con bagno e una finestrella con dimensioni di 150x150. Great location on the sea front, very close to buses, taxis, restaurants, supermarket, good walks nearby along the sea front and up the sides of the gorge that Ribeira Brava sits within. Despite being on the seafront with lots of cafes and restaurants it was mostly very quiet, a little noisier on the Saturday evening though by midnight even then it was quiet. The staff at the hotel are really friendly and helpful. They need the booking voucher from Ebookers and I was able to email it in the Reception though you may want to take a printed copy, otherwise checking in was easy, WiFi only worked in the lounge and reception but otherwise worked well. There is a lift, though part of one day it was out of order. The place is simply furnished but very clean and comfortable. I had a superior room with a sea view (a must have, particularly with the balcony!) which was massive with a large lounge and separate large bedroom. The mattress on the bed is probably coming to the end of its life, though the linen was all good with lots of spare pillows and blankets. There is a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was super clean, there was a bath with a shower over it. There was no means to tell the staff you wanted to reuse towels/ bed linen which I prefer, given the environmental impact, so I decided not to have my room serviced. Breakfast was 7 Euro and had a good buffet. I’d definitely recommend the hotel.

Whore meeting point - Hurenabsteige, NIE WIEDER
Now it’s a whore meeting point, a very noisy place around and in the so called “hotel”. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. The cleaning ladies are unable to clean and at the reception “work” people who prefer not to do their job. Not sure, but some may do the same job as for whom the meeting point is, what however is understandable as they are very badly paid as, so was I told, in all hotels of Madeira at the reception it is the case. However not an excuse for the hotel to be so dishonest and still appear as a hotel on your list. What an “authentic” Madeira it is. By the way, the “authentic” Madeira is not nice at all since people here, if you are not following what they want you to, will make VOODOO against you. NEVER EVER AGAIN, NOTHING for clean people. Es ist kein Hotel mehr, sondern eine Hurenabsteige, die von Lärm umringt ist und in der es ebenfalls sehr lärmig ist. KEINESWEGS EMPFEHLENSWERT. Die Zimmermädchen sind unfähig, richtig zu reinigen, an der Réception arbeiten Leute, die keine Lust haben, was zu tun. Siamo arrivati di notte, il personale ci ha accolto con molta gentilezza e ci ha aiutato per un problema avuto con il noleggio auto. Camera molto grande all'ultimo piano, con ampia terrazza attrezzata con tavolo, sedie e due lettini. Letti molto grandi e comodi, arredamento datato, ma con bollitore, tazze, te, caffe, zucchero e frigorifero. Bagno pulitissimo. Piccola piscina sul tetto con solarium attrezzato e bar. L'hotel mette a disposizione degli ospiti due posti auto gratuiti, nel paesino ci sono molti parcheggi a pagamento, anche se economici. Supermercato vicinissimo e fornitissimo. Durante tutta la permanenza ci siamo sentiti molto bene ed a nostro agio. Adattissimo alle famiglie con bambini. Ottimo punto di appoggio per escursioni in tutta l'isola.

Good hotel right on the seafront
I booked a superior room with a sea view and that’s exactly what I got and a bit more! In fact it was an apartment (room 310) with a living room and balcony, and with the bedroom, all had an excellent sea view. Add to this the view over the coastal part of the town, and the dramatic far edge of the valley which Ribeira Brava sits within. The rooms were very comfortable, good bed, fridge, and good shower. Only downside no English speaking TV, but I could live with that. WiFi available only in the Reception area of the hotel. Excellent buffet breakfast at a very reasonable supplement. The hotel provides 2 return shuttles to Funchal daily at 10am and 5 pm.

Aan de boulevard voor goede prijs.
Pracht plek aan boulevard. Voor klein bedrag extra een goed ontbijt buffet. Kwam om 11.15 uur aan en kreeg zonder problemen een kamer die al schoon gemaakt was. En veel groter dan betaald. Beetje ouderwets maar super schoon. Ribeira Brava is klein maar er gaan veel bussen van / naar Funchal.Parkeren bij hotel is lastig. Overdag betaalde parkeer garage, ' s avonds na 20.00 gratis op straat.

Very disappointed
We stayed here on 26th-30th January, initially we booked this hotel because we met up with friends and they got the hotel as part of a package. The check-in was straight forward even though we arrived late the staff/receptionists were very nice. The room was average with a double bed, very uncomfortable. I specifically asked for a non-smoker room and was given a room that reeked smoke and the chair had a big hole on it probably from a cigarette. The bathroom was spacious and the shower powerful probably the best asset in the room. The location is good, the hotel is by the beach with good restaurants nearby. It’s about 20min from Funchal by car.

Suite supérieure au 3ème étage, face à la mer. Très propre, meubles un peu vieillots, TV trop petite pour le salon et petite TV cathodique dans la chambre. Petite cuisine équipée ( + 7€/jour). Petite terrasse et bow window avec très jolie vue. Situation exceptionnelle face à la mer et pas trop loin de la capitale, qui permet d'explorer facilement toute l'île (voiture indispensable). Personnel très accueillant et souriant. Très bon rapport qualité/prix.

Cet hôtel est situé sur un rond point...la mer en face pour certaines chambres...d'autres dans une rue avec un grand garagiste en face....décevant....l'hôtel est vétuste mais propre....le personnel n'est vraiment pas sympa, à part les femmes de ménage....cet hôtel ne mérite vraiment pas de figurer dans votre "catalogue".. Nous voyageons souvent avec mon ami, mais franchement pour le même prix, nous avons trouvé bien mieux ailleurs...je ne conseille absolument pas cet hôtel. D'autre part, nous avons loué un véhicule à l'aéroport, mais l'hôtel n'a que deux places de stationnement gratuites....il faut se garer ailleurs et toutes les places sont payantes.

Hotel in great position near sea
Nice little resort but bit too quiet in November for someone travelling alone. Couple of good restaurants easy walking distance. I was ill and no resident Doctor they could call on - had to go to local Medical Centre by taxi.

We don't advertise any restaurant, because we don't have it, if you would have contacted reception we could suggest you a restaurant that has an agreement with us and offers a discount for hotel guests. Our specialty and region one is not entertainment, the almost part of our guests come for the environment and contact with nature. Antiguo, deteriorado y espartano
Lavabo partido, toallas desgastadas y rotas, papelera del wc oxidada.... deteriorado. Mal ubicado, no tiene parking y la playa contigua es muy pequeña. Wifi gratuito solo en recepción. Ni aire acondicionado ni calefacción, sino ventilador y radiador electrico. Pero solo hay un enchufe, lejos de la mesilla y con un ladrón para disponer dos tomas más. La bañera tiene cortinas q acumulan moho negro en la parte baja y el agua se sale de la bañera. El bar y la piscina cierran a las 20.30. Estaba limpio y el personal de recepción es muy amable.

Questo hotel si trova a Riveira Brava graziosissima cittadina molto accogliente, bellissimi dintorni per lunghe passeggiate. Collegato a Funchal tramite navetta gratuita offerta dall'Hotel. Ottimi tour dell'isola che si possono prenotare in reception. Consigliato per una vacanza rilassante, semplice e a contatto con la natura.

Nice hotel right infront of the beach!
First time in Madeira, stayed at this hotel and it was quite nice. Can see the sea right from your balcony. Loads of shops and restaurants around. Pool on the top floor which is nice if you just want to have a chilled day. Overall I was quite happy with my stay at this hotel :)

Fick ett rum med fönster in i en husvägg. Sliten heltäckningsmatta, luktade tobaksrök. Verkade finnas finare rum också, men det här var vårt absoluta bottennapp på Madeira.

Big, clean room with fantastic view to the sea. Great central location, good for buses. Lovely roof top terrace. Wifi only in public area and not very good.

Good
Very good value for the price we paid. Breakfast well worth 5 Euros (wouldn't normally pay this much for breakfast). Comfortable room but a bit dark, small stains on carpet. Had the pool & sun loungers on roof to ourselves (October). Pool not suitable for small children (1.25m deep). Staff pleasant & helpful. Only annoying thing is there is no sign on the hotel so had to ask even though we were right outside it.
