The location is close enough to town if you need something and far enough away to enjoy relaxing with a glass of wine. After opening the door and stepping inside, it took our breath away with the presentation and all of the little extras that Pam and John had included. John is also a very good barista and sitting on their verandah having a chat over a cuppa was great. We'll be back. Thank you Pam and John for sharing your piece of paradise.

Die Unterkunft ist toll gelegen mitten im Regenwald und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Für s Frühstück war gesorgt - der Kühlschrank war gefüllt und uns erwartete ein großer frischer Obstkorb. John hat uns in alles Wichtige zum Aufenthalt eingeweiht und uns noch einen Tipp für eine möglichst erfolgreiche Schnabeltiersichtung gegeben. Die Unterkunft ist eine klare Buchungsempfehlung, für die die es ruhig und etwas abgelegen mögen. Es gibt einige Ausflugsziele direkt in der Nähe. Wir behalten unseren Aufenthalt in guter Erinnerung.

Eine umwerfende Auswahl beim Frühstück mit selbstgebackenem Brot, lokalen Früchten, Eier, Bacon. Für Naturliebhaber der perfekte Ort direkt am Regenwald. Es ist sauber und entspricht den Bildern im Internet. Ein Auto ist für Touren unbedingt zu empfehlen. Die Gastgeber sind offen und herzlich.

Great location, friendly owner and well equipt

The cabin was very well equipt and the owner provided loads of local produce for our stay. Short stroll to the river and large garden to wonder around. Close to all attractions around the Atherton Tablelands area. We visited several lakes and waterfalls within 30 minutes driving distance.

A mastercraft built accommodation unit with your own private rear balcony lined with trees over- looking the river. This area and the garden are good for bird watching. The hosts are most hospitable and willing to advise on local sights. The accommodation is first class, with everything you need including a very well stocked kitchen with all your breakfast provisions supplied. Located just outside Malanda, it is central to the sights of the Atherton Tableland. Could not fault it.

Well maintained property with excellent communication from hosts. Fully stocked kitchen and breakfast amenities, including nice little “unexpected” touches (chocolates, large choice of jam spreads etc). A quick summary of Sharlynn: A cottage fitted out with everything you could need. And it overlooks a rainforest. And it’s very private. A river that crosses a mini waterfall to form a swimming pool. The chance to see platypus and tree kangaroos. Drinks on the deck at sunset listening to the chatter in the trees. A very generously stocked kitchen for breakfast. Five minutes to the lovely old town of Malanda. Ten minutes to Lake Eachem and on to quaint Yunginburra. Pam & John, extremely attentive but non-intrusive hosts. Just go, you’ll love it.

Personalised stay in a beautiful setting

We had a brilliant time at Sharlynn by the River. We were welcomed by John and his dog Charlie when we first got their, and were given a tour of the cabin and surrounding area. There is a lot to explore - they have a river and a creek that merge on the property, and a good watering hole for a refreshing dip if you like to explore a bit. They also have citrus trees up the back of the property that you can walk through, as well as help yourself to the fruits. The cabin is very spacious and was very clean. They have great facilities for cooking and barbecuing with plenty of utensils and other kitchenware to be able to cook up a storm if you want. You can also help yourself to their herb garden for your cooking! They provided a really wide variety of food to help yourself to for breakfast. The bathroom was impeccably clean and includes a spa bath if you want to use it. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The next morning at 10am we had coffee with Pam and John and had a great chat - they are very warm and friendly, and very interesting people to talk to. We had plenty of privacy with a good balance of John occasionally checking in to see if everything was okay/if we needed anything. I would highly recommend Sharlynn to anyone visiting the area, and I'll definitely be spreading the word!

Wauw!

Een uitstekend verzorgd verblijf is wat je krijgt wanneer je Sharlynn boekt. Alle details zijn tip top in orde, een verrekijker, zaklampjes op de nachtkasten, een gitaar, prachtig luxe linnen, een zeer uitgebreide en goed gevulde koelkast maakte in combinatie met de omgeving en zeker ook met de gastvrouw en heer dat we dit verblijf een absolute 10 toekennen. Op het eigen terrein een tree kangeroo gezien evenals een schildpad bij de mooie rivier. In de directe omgeving is veel te zien en we komen hier heel graag terug. We zouden Sharlynn aan iedereen van harte aanbevelen, het is een ware traktatie.

A cosy private rainforest cabin with everything.

Quiet, cosy, and wanting for nothing; Sharlynn was well appointed with everything you need for the perfect rainforest couples getaway. Falling asleep to the sound of the river and the crackle of the fire after a relaxing hot spa was lush. John an Pam made sure we had everything we needed, and Charlie the collie was well behaved. We hope to return for another stay in the near future.
