We stayed in room 7, and went to bed at around 11.30pm. The room was so noisy from the bar area until around 1am.
The room facilities were poor, lots of maintenance issues like no toilet roll holder, loose shelf, loose hook on back of door. The shower was luke warm and felt like needles.
The window didn’t shut properly and the pillows were wafer thin.
The bin hadn’t been emptied properly from previous guest there was a tooth pick in there!!
For £180 per night there was a lot wrong with this room.
Lovely little hotel above a very noisy (weekend) pub! Had a large room facing the street. Was told things get noisy on Friday and Saturday nights - they weren't lying, it was CRAZY. Had ear plugs and eye mask and was up all night. Couldn't open the windows for air, so many smokers outside the pub. Wish they had given us a discount on pub food considering we were there for 5 nights. The vertuo coffee machine didn't work, daily fresh baked cookies were a nice touch. It's fine, it's cute but brace yourself for the weekends.

We had the best stay, all of the staff were brilliant and friendly. We stayed two nights and ate breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday and all meals were delicious. We really enjoyed the live music. We will definitely be back. Keep doing what you’re doing.

The room and bathroom were excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. However my daughters missed 2 nights sleep in Rm.8 because of the band and drums until 3am! We had travelled from Canada to be with family so their exhaustion was so disappointing.

What a wonderful stay. The room was amazing, the welcome was warm and most importantly there was an excellent supply of tea and coffee in the room :)
I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Staff and bar offering was good.
The room was decorated nicely and very comfortable bed and furniture. Excellent shower too. However the smell of damp/mould from the bathroom was a little off putting. The visible damp/mould in bathroom window area and edges of flooring needs some attention.
Stayed overnight and the check in and check out was incredibly smooth. The staff were lovely and the rooms are great. Having the nice coffee, tea and fresh milk was an added bonus.
Situated in the centre of Marlow, a 2 minute walk to the river, lots of shops and bars nearby.
Friendly staff and excellent service.
The room was very clean and tidy, the bed really comfortable.
Quite expensive but you get what you pay for.
Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

Bathroom & pillows need some attention!
We stayed in room 2. The room was spacious and we liked the decor/styling. The room had pretty much everything we needed for a short stay, the fresh milk in the tea/coffee area was a nice touch. The pillows had seen better days - very flat, not comfortable and we noticed in the morning, quite badly stained. Unfortunately the bathroom also really let it down. There were very obvious ventilation issues (you could see the water drip marks down the painted walls) and lots of discoloured grout/sealant around the shower. It was fine for one night. We arrived quite late and left early so didn’t really interact with the staff much but when we did they were helpful and the check-in/check-out process was efficient. Location is excellent for access to bars/restaurants/shops. The hotel does not have parking but there is a public car park a few minutes away.

Loud live music till the early hours
Establishments like the Chequers have to decide whether they want to be a live gig venue or a hotel. They can't be both. It's a form of fraud to market yourself as a hotel, where people can sleep and then have bands playing beneath bedrooms in an old building with zero sound insulation. Music went on until 12 am, and then the noisy clear up until 01:30 am, by which time I was too wound up to get to sleep. Felt exhausted all next day. Can not recommend as a hotel.

It was so hot as there was a heatwave and room was upstairs and the small window only opened 6 inches
The room was unbearably hot and the bathroom had no opening window. The window frames were covered in black mold. The hotel said they would be in touch due to excessive charge for room not fit for purpose, that was over a week ago. Not heard anything.
