“The Internet was nonexistent!!!”

“Do not believe the photos! They have to be years out of date. The walls had large hole repairs but the worst was the front door. It was peeling and cracked with inch large gaps along the edges. I was supposed to stay there with my 11 yr old daughter and neither one of us felt safe. The building is also right up against the neighborhood liquor store. I can't even imagine what it would have been like to actually stay there. My daughter started googling hotels to give me other options.”

“The rooms are just gorgeous. The beds are comfortable and the whole atmosphere is great there. We enjoyed the large hot tub several times throughout the day and night, while taking in the beautiful views and birdwatching. We really enjoyed the private, screened balcony as well. Every part of the property was enjoyable and the staff are top notch. The breakfast was phenomenal!! Tina is an awesome innkeeper! She made us feel so comfortable and right at home. This really has become our new favorite...

“We had a wonderful stay! The innkeepers were so friendly and helpful. It was fun to learn the history of the house, especially since the were so into the history. Donnie is an excellent chef and made a wonderful breakfast for us. We were only there for one night since we were visiting our son and he only had one day off. We would definitely recommend as a place to stay for one night, or much longer. Charles Town was a cool place to visit and there are several towns around with fun downtown...

“The temperature in the room was set up at 73° and the thermostat was locked. The attendant did not want to unlock it, and I had to demand the owner of the property to be called at which time the key for the box was found, and I was allowed to adjust the temperature in the room.”

“Hotel room was very clean although the air conditioning unit was very noisy. I believe hotel is on the older side and might be the reason why unit was so noisy. Staff was very nice and the breakfast offered early at 6 AM is nice as we like to get on the road early. Will stay again.”

“The room was large and the linens were wonderful. The breakfast was good but the dining room was not well kept. Stains near air conditioning unit on ceiling tiles, broken blinds. Slow to refill breakfast items that ran out. Onsite restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. However the A/C was freezing and the live music way to loud in a small space.”

“This was an excellent stay despite of the fact I have a mobility problem and our room was 40+ steps above. Unique place and the people I met there were friendly and kind. If you're lucky enough to run into JeanMarie outside weeding, make sure you ask her questions about this area, she's local and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Our 2nd luck was seeing Chef Kashiff. Never expected that level of frienliness - we were beyond charmed by his story. Don't forget to make the 3 course dinner...

“Where do I start… TV was inoperable, there was a hole in an our sink, the “non smoking room” reeked of cigarette smoke, trash and chairs everywhere on the property, our smoke alarm starting chirping at 4am because it was low on batteries. Overall bad experience, pay around $40 more dollars to stay in a Hotel and or nicer area.”
