The Bel-Mar is a quaint throwback to a different time with a genuinely caring owner. Off the beaten path and nestled near the Sumter National Forest it's a peaceful place to stay. It's well cared for inn with spacious rooms that's a must stay if you're in the area.

The host, Peter was outstanding. He was best part of entire stay. Beds were confortable. Shower was barely ok. kinda noisy because so close totalking loudly highway. First night stay was bad. 3 truck loads of mexican construction workers stayed outside their rooms talking loudly until 1AM. No phones in room.

I was amazed to find adjustable beds in this quaint motel. I could see the updates and improvements that were installed into this unassuming small town location. Pleasantly surprised.

The rooms are very spacious. Is the first time I’ve ever seen a hotel where the head of the bed adjust so you could sit up and read a book in bed without needing too many pillows. The staff of the property was extremely professional and polite and went out of the way to help you, this is the best spot to stay at go to Graves Mountain rock swap and dig Since it’s only 20 minutes away from the site, which is straight down the same road the hotels on.

You have to remember this is a mom and pop place and so for the price point this was a good place. We were there for the bluegrass festival and our other options were more expensive or much farther away. As such the place is in need of an update and did provide the necessities. It met our needs. McCormick is just a few miles down the road and we can recommend the Little Italy restaurant and the Huddle House.

This property is under new ownership and management. They have updated a lot but still needs more. The floors are uneven, the AC doesn't smell the greatest but not bad, no clock, no hand towels, no Kleenex, shower needs updated and the bottom of the tub is very slippery when it gets wet. There are signs that say that so that's a plus. The beds are perfect! Nice and comfy and the linens are so nice and plush! The manager is super nice and the grounds are clean. Would I stay again? Well heck ya! All in all it is a great place to stay, just a few updates and that takes time and money. If you like Mexican food, eat at the restaurant just down from the motel. So good!

Bar Mel Inn

Bel-Mar Inn

New owner who is very friendly and making repairs to a property that was run down. Spacious room, bed was comfortable and the room very clean. Large selection of tv channels. Was better than I expected. Convenient and a reasonably priced if playing the savannah lakes golf courses.

Dirty, broken down and worn out everything. The AC clattered a death rattle and I barely slept - woke at 3:30 to the noise. Needs basic maintenance and a renovation. No top sheet, had to go back and ask manager for it. He launched into an explanation.

October stay at Bar-mel Inn

The owner was nice but motel is worn out and not being updated or repaired. Burn marks on toilet seat, sink stopper did not work, lamp shades torn, trash not emptied, bath towels paper thin and no service to rooms. Price is great but should be increased if needed to repair open issues. Motel is only facility in Mccormick and ha no competition.
