The Highland guesthouse is a historical building with lots of history. It is located very close to Allegheny College. The breakfast consists of pastries and cereal, with options to make your own eggs, bacon, sausage and other cooked items. We would prefer to have coffee ready and a cooked breakfast ready, even if it would be a simple breakfast casserole that would need reheated. The bathrooms are shared, unless you stay in the 2 rooms that have private ones. The staff is not around much during the day so you have a lot of privacy. We would stay here again, especially during the Thurston Hot Air Balloon Classics which leave at 6 am and Highland Guesthouse is only 1/2 mile away.

Peaceful and quiet like last time. I was here for work at the hospital. The house is very serene, there is a lot of history about tge house and area to look at. It’s also convenient to downtown.

Shane is a very good host and made me feel welcome. This is an historic B&B with a thoughtful set and comfortable accommodations. It’s nice to be able to have access to the beautiful outdoor areas.

Overnight Visit

Shane was a gracious host and shared a bit of the history of the house. It's a good restoration, retaining the mid-Victorian charm. Bed was firm and comfy. Variety of options for breakfast. Google Maps got me here without any trouble. I was just in town overnight for work, and found this place to be an excellent deal. I'd return for a weekend with the family.

Wonderful gem

Highland B&B was beyond my highest expectations. Shane is not only a gracious host but an historian knowing all about the building and the area. Tons of different breakfast options and the rooms are all so different and full of character. The porch is wonderful in nice weather for morning coffee (also provided). Highly recommended and I can’t wait to come back!

This place was absolutely stunning. Definitely the Victorian-style bed and breakfast we were looking for. We found this last minute on the same day we needed the room for and they totally delivered. Shane was great at communicating the whole time even considering the last minute booking. Great breakfast options, everything was either grab and go or low effort make-it-yourself. The property is so beautiful, I hope we will be able to make it back someday to stay for a longer period of time. 10/10 would recommend!

Great stay - Again

Once again Shane and his staff exceeded my expectation of my stay at the Highland B&B in Meadville, PA. This quant and warm inn is just what you’re looking for if you would rather stay in something more relaxing than a hotel. Check out the Highland B&B. You won’t be disappointed.

We enjoyed the rustic character of the old structure at Highland. The host was very helpful and the room was private and very clean. Some of the floors were slightly cold due to the January weather but otherwise everything was great!

Beautiful restored old home. Very comfortable and clean. Right next to Allegheny college so perfect for visiting family and alumni. Great breakfast offerings. Loved my welcome gift! Shane ( host) was very friendly and helpful. Will plan to stay again when visiting the college.
