The staff at the front desk was not helpful or professional. They would overcharge you without any explanation. I came to them at the checkout to ask the total price I paid for, however they were not willing to help and instead just gave you a hard-to-read account detail. I had to do the math myself to prove that I was charged incorrectly. The guy then was reluctant to change to the correct amount I booked for. I still haven’t got the deposit for my refund so far and either for the security bond after a week’s time. Mercure shared the same reception with Pullman. Suspect they treat guests differently for the cheaper booking.

Not 4 star hotel more like 3-2 and whole place smells like Mould, this is not Australian standard. Staff were helpful.

Wunderbare Unterkunft! Herrlich gelegen am Albert Park, nur 5 min zu Fuß zur Tram. Zimmer ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber es ist groß, sauber und hatte alles, was man brauchte (gutes Wlan, Fön, gute A/C, nicht hellhörig, top Dusche). Dazu wunderbares Personal und ein wahnsinnig tolles Frühstücksbuffet. Dazu kam: direkt in der Lobby ist eine Europcar-Station, was natürlich super ist

This property was really old and tired. I can deal with an older hotel however it was really really dirty.

On check in our beds were made but that’s all. The head boards of the bed was dirty, hand prints and god only knows what else splatted across it! The corridors leading to our room was a mess, it smelt awful and littered with room service that was not collected for 24 hours. The hotel didn’t present its self well at all, we call reception to get blanks a number of times the phone was never answered so we ended up finding a staff member in the entrance area for help. Really poor experience overall and felt like the hotel was ran by 1 person. Won’t recommend or book again. I can’t only imagine the mess of the poorly ran hotel when the F1 is in town.

Front of house and bar staff very friendly, professional and helpful. Bathroom exhaust fan needs cleaning & cobwebs at the top of the bathroom window. Also the damaged join in the carpet near the bedroom doorway was quite dangerous.

The room was adequate for what we required, however short term parking while checking in was painful - there was few parks and they were all taken, the check in line moved quite slowly and we waited about 10-15 minutes to check in, and the parking rate was a little ridiculous - its either $25 per 24hrs or when you leave (whichever comes first) so if you wish to take your car out to dinner or an event you are automatically paying $50 for the 24 hr period, a bit steep in my opinion

Property had a great pool, spa, sauna and gym. Close to trams and Albert Park. Parking was unclear, I was told $25 per day but they failed to tell me that it was every exit cost $25. Check in was slow. Concierge was helpfull.

Property wasn’t cleaned properly. No face washers provided, no soap, toilet didn’t flush properly and loud music at the property for an event on. Sunday night. Reception/check in area was so lovely that it was misleading to the remainder of the property. Best part was proximitu to Albert Park.

The bar had run out of pale ale (2 brands) on a Saturday night and at a function we couldn't get a pot glass for my wife to drink out of as she doesn't like to drink out of stubbies. Come on, you are a hotel aren't you. Not good enough for a Saturday night! Check in took forever.

Under the bed was soaked wet and smelt like beer. Only one sugar was provided for coffee and no milk. Food was over priced & the bread on the trio of dips was barley toasted.

Apart from having to remake the bed (due to short sheeting) at some ungodly hour of the evening; no body wash in shower, the stay was ok! Complimentary breakfast was average. Good location. Close to tram line. Close to good places to eat & drink! Not far from city CBD! Staff polite! ☺️

Gross hotel, everything is dirty, carpet, lounge chairs in the lobby, sofa in room. My bath was yellow, paper thin bath towels. No room service or bar service after 11pm on a Saturday.

Mercure refused to honour our booking which had been paid in full. Took almost 2 hours at reception to be provided with another room & this only occurred with the help of Wotif.com otherwise we would have had to sleep in our car.
