"This is a plesant hotel in the old city with many options for food & drinks although not alwayas open (in May) when needed. The main problem was getting in: although a pleasant reception exists, when we arrived, no-one was there just a message on the door with spanish phone numbeerst to call, but without the international code. We were rescued by a fellow guest who was able to call the number and get instructions, but it was pretty frustrating. After that all was well."

"We chose this hotel because it was an hour from Santander and just off our main route from Portugal to the ferry port for the UK. Lovely town with impressive old centre and lovely riverside walks. Lively market the day we arrived (Tuesday). Be aware that self-parking is actually free on-street parking but area seems very secure so we left most of our extensive contents in car and had no problem. Also,hotel restaurant non-functioning so sought dinner in town and nowhere open until 9pm. But...

"La casa roja, que es solo una parte de la casa, pues se comparte con la casa azul, es oscura en la planta de abajo, donde solo hay 2 pequeñas ventanas. El dormitorio es pequeño con una cama doble pequeña. Tenia solo un edredon nordico, lo cual a finales de agosto no es lo más adecuado... El pueblito es muy bonito. "
