The Hotel Salem

"The front desk staff that I spoke at length with (Bronson, Cindy, Kelly) were so helpful and enjoyable. It was obvious by their demeanor that they actually like people and enjoy their jobs. Cookies are a nice touch at check-in. The breakfast choices were excellent; the menu is planned to please every guest. Nice hostess; busy keeping food well-stocked and seating area clean. It's a pleasure to be able to leave a tip. Once again, upon entering my room, it was clean and welcoming. A "warmth" about it. As I was a cleaning lady decades ago, I still inadvertently tend to notice not just the obvious, but the 'out-of-the-way' places like where floors meet the woodwork, the back half of shelves, etc. I've yet to see a line of dust or dirt there or elsewhere. Microwave and refrigerator were clean. (would've liked the refrigerator colder but found no adjustment.) There is ample parking and I appreciate the convenient location of Hotel Salem to the many stores, medical offices, and fun activities Salem has to offer. While we have stayed at other establishments in the area, we long ago decided Hotel Salem was the place for us! It meets all our needs and expectations. Thank you."

"Our room 409 had a musty smell unless we ran a/c all the time. Bed and pillows ok, breakfast buffet very good. Food kept fresh and very nice variety."

"Our first visit to Oregon and we had a delightful stay at Atticus. The staff were great and offered coffee 24/7 which was nice touch. The only complaint is that the TV was placed on an odd wall that made it near impossible to view from the bed. The restaurant had great breakfast on the weekend and the weekdays offered a free light continental breakfast. Good location to explore Oregon wine country."
