The bathroom was dirty and not cared properly. I had to buy toilet-bowl cleaner to whiten the bowl.Hot water was so-so, either got it too cold or too hot
The bathroom was badly done - when you take a shower the water splashes all over where the toilet and sink are. Judging by the poor breakfast , which I had only 4 times in my 2 weeks stay, I never had any meals at the hotel. Around the hotel there are reasonably priced restaurants for a good meal. The staff is exceptionally pleasant and helpful but the hotel need a revamping big time. The air conditioning was okay. There was big gaping tear in one of the curtains which was not very nice. All in all my stay was okay but it could have been better.
I booked a room and already paid. But when I arrive the hotel they said they don’t have any available room. The payment hasn’t returned yet. And because of this unexpected situation I was in trouble to get another accommodation.
The hotel was booked and paid for, but they overbooked and refused the stay at check-in. Since then, no refund has been confirmed, even though multiple follow-ups have been made.
First, the things that worked: Wifi was decent and air conditioning worked well
Things that were bad about this hotel: No hot water either day, they worked on it and said it was fixed but it never worked, no new room like promised for water heater not working. Bed felt more like a box spring than a mattress. Noise from nearby bars was extremely loud and there is no soundproofing in the hotel so it kept me up to 5 am. The door to the patio did not have a latch on the door frame so there was no way to secure it and had never been a way to secure it to the street.
I have traveled Tanzania and stayed in a variety of hotels and this was the most expensive while being the worst hotel I have stayed out. Stay somewhere else, you will feel better about it.
The room costs high for it's current state. The deluxe room I got was not spacious and nice as it looks in the Hotel.com listing. Worst is the bathroom because it just fills with water everytime you use the shower - and water dries up so slow that it's dangerously slippery the whole 2 nights we were there. The ref and safe were not working but they replaced them when requested so I suggest the hotel checks those before the customer arrives and make sure everything is working. The only good thing was the great people that welcomed us and tried to make our stay a better one. By the way, the hotel did not have a clue I paid in full for my stay. I have to forward to the Manager the Hotel.ca confirmation email before they cleared my portfolio and let me check out. We were delayed a bit. The Manager was very nice and very apologetic and did not really want to give me a hard time but of course he wants to make sure the hotel gets paid. So i think they need to get better communication from Hotel.com about reservation and full payment. Lastly, i suggest Hotel.com reviews the list of amenities in this hotel and update them accordingly.

Moshi hotel stay
Hotel overall was okay....a last minute job, the best perhaps of what was available. Off the main road but easy to find, reasonable neighbourhood although didn't go out once we got there as too late.
The room was nice, clean and of average size, the TV however was very limited with periodic no reception. Tea and coffee was available but trying to get some cold milk instead of the powdered stuff for a cup of tea proved difficult (more an understanding issue). The bathroom was lovely..fab shower but unfortunately it had a leak into the bedroom (easily sorted I'm sure). The staff were lovely, very helpful and approachable. The main negative though had to be the breakfast.... absolutely the worst one we have had in a hotel...anywhere. It was a necessary stop off on our way to Arusha as time was against us...would we stay again...only if they improved the breakfasts, however overall an expensive stay taking everything into account.
Reception staff were very polite and helpful. Overall the hotel was good by Moshi standards.
The nightclub up the road is fairly noisy until about 2 a.m
Food was good and restaurant staff were very attentive and efficient.
After a very long trip from Seattle to Moshi, I arrived late and wanted only to crash in my room. I had made a reservation, and had numerous pieces of documentation confirming the reservation and that payment had been made. They made me pay again, stating they didn't know anything about it. The hotel itself is nice, safe, and comfortable, but as always, TIA (This Is Africa) took control and it was an hour before I could get into a room, having to re-pay, and speak to the manager twice on a cell phone to try to explain my situation. A frustrating cultural interaction, but the other than reservation problems, the stay itself was just fine.
