Nakhon Phanom is one of our favorite places in Thailand. Easy to drive around. The riverwalk is very clean and interesting. Transportation is available. Speaking at least basic Thai is helpful. Friendly people.

We had a river view suite. It was implausibly large, with very heavy furnishings. The hotel was looking rather tired and in need of a refresh — scuffed paintwork and chipped MDF. The room had not been properly cleaned — parts were rather dusty — but housekeeping Some of the rooms on the other side ...

You can do some window-shopping at Nakhon Phanom Walking Street during your visit to Nakhon Phanom. Stroll along the riverfront or experience the area's festivals.

You can learn about the history of Nai Mueang with a visit to Naga Monument. Take in the museums while you're in the area.
Learn about the local history of Nakhon Phanom with a stop at Chom Khong Park. While you're in the area, stroll along the riverfront.
After visiting Tourism Authority of Thailand Nakhon Phanom Office, make a plan to see the other sights and activities in Nakhon Phanom. Stroll along the riverfront or visit the temples while you're in the area.
After visiting Wat Si Thep, make a plan to see the other sights and activities in Nai Mueang. While you're in the area, stroll along the riverfront.
Though Nakhonpanom Ratchanakarin Psychiatric Hospital might be what brings you to town, perhaps you'll have a chance to explore more of Nakhon Phanom while you are here.

I only went there to see the boat rolling event so I didn't go to see anything else there.
