Napili-Honokowai, Hawaii hotel rooms at the Independent

This is a lovely place to stay with wonderful service. Breakfast is extra, parking is extra and late checkout is extra. All seem excessive in a room over $800 a night. The bed was not very comfortable. View of ocean from the room butalmostno beach. Food was not worth the. Price and would recommend going off property to eat.

Very intimate, we had the partial ocean view just steps away from the beach. Room was very clean,had everything you need stocked in the kitchen for cooking. Rooms have no air but ceiling fans and leaving windows open cool down the room and not to mention hearing the ocean waves are at night is so calming. Pool has bbqs and is awesome at night with the tiki torches lit. Thursday night they had a pool party free Maui Tais and a live singer. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. They provide beach...

Great room all around. Incredible view, super clean, and all the amenities one could need (except A/C, but at least they provide plenty of fans and there are large sliding doors to allow cooler outside air inside). Really a great place and great value. Highly recommend!

The setting here is wonderful. We could see and hear the waves whenever we were in our room. We had many meals on the balcony. But if you want a ocean view, make sure your building is one that has an ocean view. Ocean front rooms are more expensive, of course. If you don't care, the garden rooms have a very nice garden view as the gardens are nice too. Both the Gazebo restaurant and Imu BBQ were reasonable and delicious. It was a confusing check in process because the staff refused to help us because this unit was privately owned. I didn’t realize till then . Anyways , after reading my emails and phone calls, we got in . The kitchen sink had a slow leak the reason a frying pan was left under it which I removed and a day after I ended up cleaning/drying because water had started leaking to the kitchen floor . The apartment was prepared with all the necessary amenities. It was spotless, smelled great, had plenty of soaps, towels, and beach necessities, and air conditioning was even left on, so the apartment was quite comfortable upon our arrival. RedAwning is an excellent company with a superb customer relations attitude.

The view to the ocean from our room was everything we wanted , beautiful property and would definitely book for next trip. Thank you 😊

We had a great stay with two other couples. The unit is well kept as are the grounds. Some good places to eat without having to drive. My only criticism is that none of the lights are very bright except those in the kitchen. We could not play cards at the dinning table because of this. We had to arrange chairs around the kitchen counter.

In short, we would stay again but there were pros and cons. Overall this is an epic oceanfront place and we had a great time. View from balcony, sunsets on the property, ocean noise and beach access were all 10/10. Wifi was fast and reliable. Parking situation and general grounds were very good. I did not care for the extremely thin window right above the master bed. Road noise woke me up a couple times each night without fail when some random person bombed down the street. Bed pillows...

The property was as pictured. Grounds were excellently maintained and customer service was very attentive. Check in and check out was a breeze.

The best family rental ever. For the price compared to all the other resorts you get the most bang for your buck: location, FULL KITCHEN, laundry, guest services, beach access, shopping, and the most beautiful ocean with snorkeling magic galore. We saw sharks turtles and fish by Black Rock. It was amazing. Our daughter loved her first trip to Hawaii. We will definitely be back to west Maui and highly recommend the Whaler.

Exceptional per usual! We love staying at the Whaler, the condo option is great for families that aren’t trying to eat out each meal and it’s in a great location by Black Rock for snorkeling, plenty of restaraunt options and next door to Whalers Village for plenty of shopping options.
