New to Nelspruit

Came to Nelspruit for work. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating, I was a little surprised to see on arrival they don't have an elevator. Thankfully, I'm not handicapped or disabled. I dined for breakfast and it was reasonably priced, food tasted well, there was options for everyone, and the staff were great and professional. The only thing that bothered me was everything closed early, 9pm....EVERYTHING! I'm from the USA so that was new to me, the cities shut down early during the week.

L'hôtel bénéficie d'une superbe situation géographique dans une zone résidentielle et à côté du lac et d'autres commerces. L'aménagement et la décoration sont chics et plus ou moins vintage. Nous avons apprécié la piscine les deux jours où nous sommes restés sur place.

It’s a lovely small and friendly hotel with a great atmosphere The only suggestion I would make is that breakfast is very slow service as cooked breakfast items are served by one person who is also making egg dishes So frustrating to wait . We kregen eerst een andere kamer (twee bedden) ipv kingsize-bed. Dat werd opgelost. De tweede dag kregen we maar 1 grote handdoek. Kleine onzorgvuldigheden. Wij hadden een kamer met uitzicht op het zwembad. Dat is ook de plaats waar andere gasten even een drankje nemen, even bijkletsen, een sigaretje roken. We moesten dus - ook overdag - onze ramen en gordijnen sluiten. Niet zo fijn. Wij kiezen een volgende keer in Nelspruit een andere plaats om te overnachten.

The Hotel stay was very good, staff very friendly. with the exception of housekeeping that didn't properly clean our room and replace few things we used. Overall I would recommend Protea Hotel and use it again.

Perfect for an overnight in Nelspruit

The hotel was clean, staff friendly and conveniently located for a one night stop over in Nelspruit before a trip to the Kruger National Park. Considering the Pandemic, the hotel and staff took the necessary precautions I.e. sanitizing of hands, pens and room cards, social distancing and completing health questionnaires upon arrival. Sanitizer wipes were generously located in the room.
