Perfect rural retreat!
Fantastic communication from the hosts at all stages of the process. Beautiful, spotlessly clean accommodation in a peaceful, rural location. A real ‘get away from it all’ break - yet within an easy drive of many tourist spots. Thank you for a perfect stay! We are already recommending Amberley Cottage to family and friends.

Very good cottage, quiet, easy to get to, like a home from home with all the amenities, they’d thought of everything. Host was very pleasant and helpful. We tried to stay again but they were fully booked for the rest of the summer!

Home from Home
We were welcomed on arrival. The cottage was much bigger than I thought it would be. All of the rooms were big and very comfortable. The bed was huge and really comfy! It was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed with lots of lovely little touches to make it feel like a home from home. It is isolated and very quiet with a lovely little garden at the back which you access from the top stairs. there was also a lovely BBQ area with a bench. The cottage was cool inside which was nice as we had a hot weekend. There is a wood burner to use if needed. Would absolutely recommend and would defiantly use again.

The attached property housed the homeowners who were friendly, welcoming, and attentive to our needs. Parking was off the road next to the property. Set in a quiet section of forgotten Devon in the expansive countryside, along with similar styled properties, this cottage offers an outstanding holiday home. Fully renovated with contemporary decoration, with no low ceilings or beams, it still retains its original charm. The bed was comfortable and a goodnight's sleep was easily achieved. Think, more like at home, than in a holiday rental. Definitely a quiet retreat than a party house.

Welcoming hosts to a lovely cottage. It was home from home in a beautiful setting and access to gardens and patio. Clean, comfotable, well equiped with little extras such as books, games equipment even pegs! Loved it.

Beautiful cottage on stunning location
Beautiful cottage very well equipped. Was made welcome by Louise the owner. Very peaceful location. Nice patio area in sunny position. My only minor comment would be nice to have some comfortable garden furniture. The benches got a little uncomfortable after a while. Would definitely stay again and also recommend to family and friends.

Stayed with our 3 children for 4 nights over half term and a great time was had by all! Just the right size (even with 2 teenagers!) and ideally positioned for nearby places for all interests. Louise & Martin are excellent hosts and apart from making us feel welcome they went extraordinarily out of their way to make up for a very tiny mishap when the dishwasher failed – we could have lived without it but they absolutely insisted and proceeded to move heaven and earth to get a replacement on a bank holiday when no shops were offering one at such short notice – well beyond the call of duty, thank you very much! And thanks for also accommodating our trailer with bikes! Oh and for nursing our 6 year old when she got a tick from the forest - where else would include free medical assistance?! Can't recommend enough - look no further, really!

Perfect family getaway!
A stunning cottage in the countryside perfect for couples or families. With everything you could possibly need provided along with an endless supply of firewood for the log burner, spacious rooms and comfy beds it really is the perfect little getaway! We are a family of four with 9 and 12 year old daughters and they loved it as much as we did. We cannot wait to go back and are already looking to book our next stay at Amberley Cottage.

Amberley really has the wow factor when you drive in through the gate and it does not disappoint. The lovely thatched house has a traditional exterior and the interior is immaculate. Louise and Martin are perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble. There is a sitting room and conservatory/garden room for the use of guests and the views of the garden and the surrounding countryside are spectacular. The breakfasts are first class and include home made bread and preserves courtesy of Louise. We have no hesitation in recommending this classy B&B to all.

Exceptional accommodation in a beautiful setting. Friendly welcoming hosts, a soft comfortable bed and tasty breakfast with homegrown produce from the garden. Good value for money and would definitely return. If relying on a Satnav to get there definitely go on coordinates rather than the postcode code as it’s not the easiest place to find!

Awesome B&B, the owners were fabulous and this is quintessentially English experience. The cottage is facing some of the most beautiful countryside imaginable. On arrival we had tea and cake served in the most gorgeous English garden with views to die for. These kind of experiences are priceless.

Very comfortable B & B in a rural setting. Our hosts were very attentive and welcoming. On arrival we were given tea and cake and next morning they delivered a superb breakfast. Room and facilities were perfect and a great selection of possible meal venues was given in a guest handbook for evening meals.

Beautiful country stay
This is a lovely B & B, immaculate in every way and with charming hosts. We were welcomed with afternoon tea in the garden. Whilst our room was not ensuite the adjacent bathroom was lovely and solely for our use. The property is a little hard to find but well worth the effort. The views are delightful and the surroundings peaceful.

The owners are warm and welcoming, the property is clean and well presented and the breakfast is excellent. There's a nice country pub within a 20 min walk which does decent food in the evenings. Personally I was down for work and it worked well for me, however I'm sure it would be excellent if your on holiday for a few days wanting to explore the local area.

A charming thatched guest house set in a beautiful well tended country garden, I had a most relaxing night and awoke to an incredible view of the local countryside. In the morning I enjoyed a first class cooked breakfast with fresh baked bread and preserves made on premises, a real treat. My hosts were lovely and made me most welcome in their home. I look forward to returning soon!

Really lovely place.
This was a lovely place. Set in a peaceful country side setting but with excellent links to all locations. One mile from main rd. Clean and spacious. Lovely host and hostess who look after you. Food was great and varied. Best b&b we have stayed in. So 5 out of 5 all round.

Excellent hotel
I was met on my arrival with a very welcome smile and coffee. The hotel was everything it said it was and more. I will certainly recommend this hotel to everyone. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and the hosts were very helpful and caring. The area is beautiful with magnificent views. Only downside is the narrow lane which you have to drive through to get there the hotel itself more than compensates.

I was warmly welcomed by the hosts, and every effort was made throughout to ensure that my stay was comfortable. I had a beautiful view over Haytor, and there was also a comfortable sitting room and garden room. The room was immaculate, and I even had the choice of a my own coffee percolater. The breakfast could not be better - lovely cooked breakfast, home made bread and jams. I shall certainly return when I next go to the area. Thank you.

Wonderful stay!
Such a comfortable, immaculate and incredibly welcoming bed-and-breakfast in a very pretty location. The hosts were incredibly accommodating for our early arrival request and our room and bathroom were beautifully presented, incredibly comfortable and immaculately clean and presented. Wonderful breakfast followed in the morning. Would highly recommend without hesitation.
