Lovely building could use a little redecoration the bar and restaurant was so nice with an open fireplace food delicious but very large portions that must result in a lot of waste staff helpful and friendly would definitely visit again

A Great Discovery

Dining outside on a gorgeous terrace with a beautiful ‘tropical’ view. Plentiful tea-tray in the room. Super service with plenty of humour. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed in, very good value and doing what it says ‘on the tin’. A great find.

The property and staff are excellent, and will definitely call again. My only annoyance is with Expedia as when I looked for a room in Norwich centre it said this is by the cathedral, turned out to be12 miles from centre. Again excellent place and staff.

Lovely 1 night stay

Stayed 1 night & everything was very good. Free parking, easy check in & the rooms where spotlessly clean. We had a full english breakfast the next morning which was amazing value for money & very tasty.

Lovely and peaceful. Excellent service.

Lovely, peaceful location and character building. Dog friendly. Wonderful staff and evening meal was delicious, very generous portions. Room was comfortable but needs some updating, some grubby marks but you could see they were working on refreshing the place. Overall, service was excellent and could not be faulted.

Hotel couldn't do enough for us breakfast changes last minute easy check in and out would use again bit dated but nothing to complain about great location too scenic

Lovely room with king size bed. The bathroom was lovely and plenty of towels. There was plenty of coffee and milk. Lovely and quiet with. The outside there was a pond and plenty to walk around.

We stayed 1 night in December 2022. The building is beautiful, the staff friendly and accommodating, room was clean and nicely furnished, bed was super comfortable warm open fires in the restaurant and the food was excellent. I will stay again and recommend.

Would book again if in the area.

Comfy bed, clean, hot shower and good food. The service was excellent. The new owners have a task on their hands to renovate a very old character building. Our waitress said "it's a family business, they have a plan to get the business in better shape, like using meat from their farm in the meals. That's why I like working here."

Spacious rooms. Comfy bed. Early close bar.

Lovely spacious room. Comfy bed. No one on reception when we got there on Friday Dec 27th but after ringing a phone number and leaving a message we were greeted by the owners son. We were asked if we wanted a meal that night or breakfast in the morning which we didnt need. It would have been nice to visit the bar on Friday pm but we found it closed at 9:45pm when we tried to visit it. Maybe it would be open later a different day or in the summer. A pleasant stay if you want to stay in your room.

Picturesque Tudor style hotel and restaurant in rural setting was idyllic. The interior is being upgraded, with modern bathrooms. There were high quality and large servings in the restaurant. Pleasant staff rounded out the experience. We will be back!

A good value for money Hotel, slightly dated, but room was large and bed very comfortable. So for the money was a very good option. Breakfast was good with good options, and reasonable value, staff in the restaurant were very good. On the negative side the bar was closed, and the only time we saw anybody on reception was when we checked in.

Nice stay

Overall we had a good stay. Our room was nice although the bathroom door lock was broken. It was also quite hot in the room as there is no aircon but the staff did bring two fans in for us. The decor is a little dated but quite charming. The breakfast was really tasty and there was a good selection.

Unique property with lots of beams and a cosy feel. Staff couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming. The only problem was the guests watching loud tv until 4am...walls are very thin

Not our first visit, speaks for it's self. Staff very helpful, bed super comfortable, room a good size our only niggle was that the towel rail wasn't working so there was no heating in the bathroom, not a biggie. Beautiful location. Place is like a sleeping giant.

Lovely approach, setting and building. Lovely and clean , bed comfortable . Unfortunately couldn’t comment on the restaurant as not open evening or morning as no chef available, although an offer was given to deliver drinks to the room if required . No heating in the bathroom .

Freezing

Our stay was ok, beds comfy and hotel room quiet. However, the hotel was freezing cold throughout. Our room was stone cold and we had to keep the heating on all night. The heated towel rail in the bathroom didnt work and we werent able to get any hot water in the sink. The bathroom light was linked to an extractor fan which was reduculously noisy and stated on for ages after use. We didnt bother with a shower we just wanted to get in the car to warm up. Breakfast was nice.
