Dear Reviewer Anonymous reviews are difficult as we do not know when you stayed or in which unit... We are deeply sorry that you found an ant in the sugar. Being that there generally are no ants this time of year, perhaps it may have been a small grain of coffee. It certainly is a pity that you were unable to sleep with the heating on, perhaps the electric blanket and fluffy doona would have kept you warm while sleeping and you could have turned the air conditioner off. We quarterly clean the 2 filters in each air-conditioning unit and they are also serviced regularly, the humming noise is to be expected but I'm sorry that it was a bother to you. We are glad that you were happy with our staff and the other offerings in our unit. Keep well Ilan

Dear Guest, We are experiencing a severe drought in Tasmania. There is no town water provided anywhere on the Tasman Peninsula. At the Ecovillage we harvest our own water. Unfortunately our creek/spring water supply has dried up this summer and we use filtered dam water for our showers and toilets. The water has a light brown colour due to vegetation (tannins). It is visually unattractive, however completely harmless. Unfortunately, most of the properties on the Tasman Peninsula are experiencing the same issue. We hope that you understand and that the remainder of your holiday experience was enjoyable.

The Cafe is no longer a part of the Motel and is owned and managed by a separate business but I am sure they will love to hear your happy feedback and I will pass it on to them.

Because there is no town water supply in Nubeena, our water is harvested naturally from the flowing creek and rain water tanks. Unfortunately, while it is treated to make it safe for household use, it can sometimes be a little discoloured. That is why we provide clean filtered water suitable for drinking inside each unit on arrival and make it available within easy access for all of our residents and guests.

Unfortunately, at this time of year it is difficult to find places to dine in Nubeena on a Monday and Tuesday but there will be more options available for meals during summer. Thank you for taking the time to review our motel. Yes we are part of the Tasman Ecovillage complex. This doesn't affect your stay in that the motel is quite self-contained and separate from the village. Most of all, being part of the Ecovillage has NOTHING to do with finding it hard to get warm! :) I'm not sure why you struggled with this? We have heat pumps in most rooms and the couple of rooms that don't have heat pumps have very efficient heaters. There are spare blankets and electric blankets in every room. Had you told us you were finding it difficult to keep warm we would gladly have supplied more heating or blankets! We have had a couple of very cold nights recently

Just a couple of corrections if I may :) Whilst we are happy for our guests to bring their own water for drinking this is completely unnecessary! The drinking water that we provide is triple filtered to health department standards and is completely safe to drink. Not to mention absolutely delicious!! There is not big supermarket (we are a town of 300 people) but there are two IGA supermarkets. The pub next door takes last orders at 7pm and the pizza and pasta joint is open till at least 8pm.

But you still gave us 8 out of 10 :) Thank you! I guess that means it was clean and comfortable. The water from the taps is perfectly safe for use in showers and brushing your teeth. We are on tank water which is rainwater mixed with bore and creek water; this causes it to be a little discoloured. Like many places in rural Australia. The "useable" water in the fridge pure Tasmanian rainwater; filtered to health department standards for drinking. Probably some of the nicest drinking water you will find anywhere in the world. A commune? Oh please. There is a residential area to the property; quite distinct and discrete from the motel area. Monday night when you stayed is our common dinner night ; finished by 8pm. Again, nowhere near the motel area. This is a family friendly motel so no apologies for the children!!

Hi thanks for the lovely 5 star review :) We do have a guest laundry onsite - open till 8pm. I understand that the colour of country water supplies can be a little offputting! As you say, it is tank water, which, whilst a little discoloured (it comes from a bore and creek as well as rain water) is perfectly safe to shower in, brush teeth etc. We really appreciate your understanding in this and grateful that you chose a five star review!

Thank you for the positive review of our motel :) And we appreciate your understanding of the internet situation - as you say, nothing we could do about it! Nubeena, where we are located, is just ten minutes from Port Arthur. It is the largest town on the Tasman Peninsula and has a supermarket, bank, chemist, post office, tavern and takeaway food; this makes it quite convenient for guests. It is not a tourist town so there aren't other tourist amenities.
