"The front desk staff didn't explain anything. I happened to walk by a half hour later and another guest was getting a completely different experience. The room was adequate. AC worked well. Bed was comfortable. Overpriced breakfast was the main reason for knocking off a star."

"My stay began on a happy note—I really appreciated the hotel’s convenient location, with a nearby gas station for essentials and a short walk to a shopping center with stores like Marshalls, Ross, Trader Joe’s, and a few banks. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted with professionalism and kindness by the front desk clerk, Eric. Check-in was quick and seamless, which I truly appreciated. My room was clean and comfortable, with a view of the freeway that I personally didn’t mind at all. Later, when I wanted to enjoy a relaxing bath, I had a bit of trouble with the bathtub stopper. After trying a few times, I went downstairs for assistance, and Olga (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly) went above and beyond to help me. Thanks to her, I was able to fully enjoy a peaceful bubble bath. Overall, my experience at the hotel was wonderful. The front desk staff—Ancerea, Olga, and Eric—were all incredibly welcoming and provided exceptional service, especially during my birthday staycation. I would absolutely choose this location again and look forward to staying at Hilton properties in the future."

"I have stayed at the Coral Reef many times over the years. It is a classic 1930’s/1940’s motel so things are a bit old. But the price, value, and location are great for a traveler who enjoys a place with character and history. The website suggests they have a “business center,” but they do not have a room with a computer and printer you can access. But the staff at front desk were very helpful and printed out my conference papers for me. I had a great stay"

"It was a character property very close to the university of Berkeley campus, and close to all of the venues. The street was lively and the bar downstairs was a nice spot to have a coffee in the morning, laptop time in the lounge and a cocktail in the evening. Gym was small but serviceable. I would encourage travellers to bring good ear plugs. Some road noise, general noise from neighbors could impact sensitive sleepers. Also parking was sometimes a challenge as the two above ground lots were almost always full or had only 1 spot available. If you have a large car it is somewhat difficult to get in and out of the spots and tough to turnaround as someone new always parked in the non parking areas."
